I was in a wing joint when the game started and I'm pretty sure NY scored before the guy who sang the anthem got off the ice.Digital_Damage wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 1:58 pm Hands down one of the most undiscipline games I have seen from Tampa in 4 years.
They tried to go toe to toe with a team significantly younger and quicker. They completely fell out of their game plan after NY's third goal.
I expect Cooper to hammer it into them big time.

It's a ton easier to score if the game hasn't started.

That win was gay porn hard.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
We needed to get a win like that. 1st game of the series where the Bolts were the better team for 3 periods during 5v5. Our penalty kill needs to be better, Rangers PP is on fire right now.
LFG!!

I’ve been conditioned to hate “Sweet Caroline” but Andrej is changing that mindset.
Jan Rutta should be the first star of this game. Palat and Vasy for the others, don’t particularly care about the order.
Best of three. Steal one in MSG and roll onwards.

Stole one.
They say the series hasn't started until you win on one on the road.
Welp.
And if anyone thinks that after the buzzer scrum doesn't mean anything, you don't hockey. This team seeing the captain drop knuckles after the bell is going to play game six like their short and curlies are fucking roasting.
Saturday will be the defining game of this post season. Believe that.

Those highlights are a beauty to see! 1 more game for a 3rd straight Stanley Cup finals!
I'd hate to get ahead of myself but for the more experienced NHL fans, how do the Lightning stack up against Colorado?

Thank god for Vasilevskiy. He’ll will be the goat when it’s all said and done.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Holy crap! Hope this guy is ok
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
At least they have video of the guy. But.... It also makes you wonder why somebody was running video on him/them. What went on before this?

I had a buddy get into a scrap at a game once, and the videos that circulated were of him drilling an opposing fan (settle down, Pedro). What most people never saw was the opposing fan chasing down another guy and assaulting him, then shoving my buddy’s senior uncle over a row of chairs. Funny what a 30 second clip can do to perception.
Not justifying this Rangers fan though… especially considering he’s a Rangers fan

Cracks in New Yorks experience has arrived, could not be more apparent with that after the match scrum. That score does not really reflect the show the Lightning put on.
I see all this "we have been here before" talk from the Rangers... no... you have not been here before. Eastern Conf final, one game from elimination against a core that has been a serious contender 7 of the last 8 seasons.

I've been to the Garden a ton of times as a visiting fan. Never had a problem. Never seen something like that happen. Don't let one staten island asshole give NYC a bad name. There are plenty other things that can do that.
Only city I've ever had a problem as a visiting fan is that shit hole philly
Who's scoring tonight for the Bolts?

The shutdown line is insanely overdue. My money is on Cirelli. He's been a fucking force. Hedman clapping one from the point would be the kill shot . Don't think the Rags would have the mental fortitude to overcome another defenseman scoring one on Shesterkin.

Anyway
Avs vs Bolts prediction?
Bolts in 6
Colorado doesn’t have the goaltending.

To say Colorado does not have the goaltending is not correct. Kuemper is back 100% after the rest and the strength of Colorados defensemen allows them to swap in Francouz with very little drop off. Makar is simply a monster. Towes came out this season, the guys +/- is 52! I think they are allowing around 2.5 goals a game. Vasy around 2.25 goals.
Where Colorado has a problem is at Center, missing Kadri is a big deal. They are going to have to move one of their Left Wings to cover. Just like we had to do with Point out. Colorado has 4 players in the top 10 with points in the post season... Tampa has one.
This team is better than anyone that came out of the east... including Tampa. The best option Tampa has is to go full suicide mode. Lay the wood early in the series and eat pucks in front of the net. Just keep dumping and grinding ala 2011 Boston.

Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Dude... this is simply hands down the best spectating sport in the world. Shit turns on a dime and there is no rest during game time, it is full throttle for 20 minutes at time. Almost no lead is safe when a team can all of a sudden score three goals in a few minutes. There is no running out the clock like Football or Soccer. Even basketball looks slow in comparison, hack a Shaq does not exist.King Bootz wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 10:52 pm It's fun and stressful as hell watching these games.

Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Colorado is really fast and has some depth. Makar is still underrated.
Makar vs. Hedman?
Kucherov vs. MacKinnon?
Maroon cup streak?
Bednar vs. Cooper?

Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
I wouldn’t be shocked to take one from Colorado. Their goaltending has been exposed to the tune of two games with a save percentage of .857 and we all know that Tampa can score from any line.
That said, outside of Mackinnon and Makar, obvious studs, the Avs are equally skilled. I think the advantages for Tampa are defensive depth and Goalie. Playoff experience won’t be as much of a factor, but have to wonder if rust hurts the Avs they way it did us, and if we can somehow steal the Avs home stand.
We have to see depth scoring. Colton, Cirelli and Paul were blanked against NYR. Can’t have that again.
I think the series goes the distance, and Vasilevsky’s absolutely nutty elimination game performance gives us the trifecta.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
I think getting Point back will be an added plus. That’s a dimension we were missing the entire NY series. May have still gone 6 games, but I bet we’d have won a couple of those close games more convincingly.Rocker wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 7:55 amI wouldn’t be shocked to take one from Colorado. According to some random yahoo on the radio this morning: During the two prior Cup runs, there were only three games total where the Lightning had Stamkos, Point, and Kucherov all available to play.
Re: *OFFICIAL 2022 Tampa Bay Lightning Thread*
Wow. That’s crazy. Seems Cooper is pretty good at putting lines together that can get the job done with whoever is available.
