That kid from Alabama...that linebacker...Will Anderson...Jesus.

I don't say this lightly...I've been "scouting" the NFL draft since 1994.

This kid is the most dominant defensive prospect I've ever seen.

Literally the only comp I have for him is Lawrence Taylor. I don't have anybody else to work with here. Maybe Von Miller? A bigger, stronger, meaner, more explosive Von Miller? Keeping in mind that a) Von Miller is a first ballot Hall Of Famer and b) Von Miller was all of those things?

This is going to be one of those insane drafts where like 8 Hall Of Famers go in the first round. He'll be one of them.

You're not wrong.

If Will Anderson were in this draft, he would have been the number one overall pick. Easy.

Oh, yeah. Every bit as much a lock as Lawrence was last year.

We might see our first flat-out tank for a defender this year. And that's with a potentially great QB class.

Eh, he probably won't go 1st overall next year though. He might be the best prospect overall but you have to imagine that either of the great QB prospects(Stroud and Young) will likely go to a needy/desperate team at 1st/2nd. Probably works out great for whoever's picking 3rd overall though.

We will see how the quarterbacks stack up after another year and draft process scrutiny. The previously top projected ones from this past draft tumbled pretty far.

I let the sim run on auto and ten QB's were picked before our first pick. Think they are trying to sway the process this early?

Aside from the Luck/Lawrence type of years, this always seems to be the case. A favorite will have a middling season and fall off, while someone we've never heard of will start lighting everyone up.

The trajectory of Young interests me. I was very much in the camp saying size wouldn’t hurt Murray’s draft stock and he went #1. He maybe had 25 lbs on Young by the time of the combine. At present, Young is very slight.

So.... yeah. You know how you watch player highlight videos and the creator circles the guy pre-snap? The one I watched didn't do that. They didn't have to. Your eyes automatically find that guy, because he's playing a different game than everyone else. The speed and violence of his play is incredible.

After last night and what he’s likely to put on tape we’d need to be in the top 5.

The very illogical part of me kind of wishes Tom stayed retired, we didn’t re-sign everyone + add FAs, and we go with Trask to tank the season to get one of these guys.

We’re headed to a really bad place and there are about to be one of the 10 or so teams that doesn’t have a good young QB.

The TE from Notre Dame is the closest player I've seen to Gronk in a long time. Can't think of his name and not interested nearly enough to google it.

Guy I've been really impressed with: Tampa Native Michael Penix Jr. He cleaned up his mechanics and I think he's got every trait. I'd liken him to a much more NFL caliber (left handed) version of Desmond Ritter. He's this year's MJW "Kiss Of Death" quarterback.

Put me down as interested in Herndon Hooker.

Consistently takes care of the football, high QBR, and is relying less on his feet this year. Great game against Alabama, but he did fade a bit in the 4th quarter.

Can he beat Trask and Gabbert? Maybe.

Hooker has horrible feet, is an older prospect, and plays in that goofy Tennessee offense with those huge wide receiver splits. He doesn't throw into tight windows much at all.

But I dunno. Lighting up Bama like that ain't easy.

He threw some dimes in the first half.

Anyway, I don't mind taking a closer look.

Well, he's a bigger defensive end at 6'6 and 290lb, which is intriguing as a potential future Gholston replacement at 5-tech. The most interesting thing about him I think is his versatility; he can play upright on the edge or as a blitzing off-ball backer from depth, he can stunt, he can put his hand in the dirt and rush as a true edge as well. And unsurprisingly, with size like that he has plenty of power.

But there's a reason he hasn't played much in college, and that's because he's too much of a tweener that's hard to project. Morris lacks the bend and explosion to be a true edge, while also simultaneously lacking the consistent pad level, short-area quickness, and grown-man-strength to play on the interior.

And yeah, I know that better players ahead of him kept him on the bench throughout his Michigan career, but if he were truly great he would have worked himself into more reps sooner. I generally place a healthy respect on collegiate production, and he has less than 40 tackles and 8 sacks for his career.

It'll be interesting to see how he does in predraft testing. I think Morris is likely a late second to early fourth round pick, though that could change based on what he does at the combine.

Between the two, I'd rather take Mike Morris.

Mazi is a good player and all, but as a pro I think he is strictly an interior two-down nosetackle. He is strong and he won't give up his gap, but he offers very little as a rusher against collegiate competition and gets lost in the trash too often to not be concerning.

Morris by contrast has upside and production and can play outside of the A-gaps.

There's other Michigan guys I would like over Morris though. Blake Corum at running back in the second round, Ronnie Bell as a #3 receiver prospect in the fourth, Mike Sainristil as a midround nickel corner prospect. I could go on.
