So now passing yards matter, coulda sworn many here used that stat for qbs who lost games. Winstons completion percentage was bad but his expected completion percentage was top 4 in the nfl. The saints pass catchers last I checked were/ are near the top of the league in dropsDread wrote: ↑Fri Nov 12, 2021 7:56 amYour boy was also near the bottom of the league in completion % despite having one of the lowest AYPA (Air Yards Per Attempt), which means he attempted alot of short passes.
I'm also not one to harp on passing yards since alot of passing yards get accumulated by QBs on losing teams in garbage time. But your boy was near the bottom there also.
So yeah, "leading" from the bottom once again.
Good luck in his recovery though. The league is certainly more #exciting when he's playing and being a goofball. I would've liked to see how Jameis played once/if Sean Payton took the training wheels off him and stopped calling plays like he was an undrafted rookie QB.
Maybe next year. He just needs more time.
The Official Jameis Winston Thread
Re: The Official 2021 Jameis Winston Thread
Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
I think people are sleeping in the Saints.
They get a guy like Jameson Williams to pair opposite of MT with Kamara underneath... Winston continues to keep his INTs down like last year, that's an offense.
Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
And all that took was having the 30th most passing attempts per game.
Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
So? It got them to 5-2, if it works it works. What says Winston needs to air it out? Maybe his best self is a better Jimmy G. Plus what we his weapons last year?
Don't sleep.
Don't sleep.
Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
Every fucking year. He just needs more time. As the mushroom cloud envelops the entire world, there will still be clowns swearing Winston is just about to be different, he just needs X, Y, and Z. And Z is ALWAYS more time.
Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
At this point he is what he is. Lots of tds, yards, and ints. He makes game exciting though, but usually for all the wrong reasons, and sometimes the right ones.
*Edit* Honestly don't want to go through that again.

Give it up for gottajaboo for shooting his shot
Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
The Saints never were a real 5-2 team at any point last season. They caught the high end of some unsustainable variance during their 5-2 start. Their RZ efficiency, for example, was at over 90% at some point (Bills finished the season as the best RZ team at 66%) and they hit deep shots at a ridiculous rate.
Their receivers still suck, they lost their HOF offensive mind, their line got worse, Kamara will miss time and Jameis is still a bad quarterback. We also know that defense tends to be unstable from year to year. They lost Marcus Williams and their best reaming players on defense, Jordan and Davis, will both be 33 years old when the season starts.
I'm sleeping in the Saints and I'm sleeping well.
THEY FUCKING SUCK.

I remember that guy being a guest on one of the Buccaneers podcast. I’ve never seen a more dedicated fan of any player. This guy spends all day defending Winston in arguments that don’t even include Winston. The Outsider wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 4:50 pm Some whacko with the Twitter handle Jameis1of1 wrote it. Re: The Official Jameis Winston Thread
I'd like to add that I watched every throw Jameis made last year. He was STILL throwing too many bad balls, despite the offense being mostly runs and one/zero read controlled passing. He's still Jameis. Payton controlled for him as much as possible, the Saints played good D, and Kamara was a freak. The defense takes a step back, or Kamara misses real time, and they ask him to throw more than 22 times a game, much less win games for them? LOL.Max wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 8:34 pmThe Saints never were a real 5-2 team at any point last season. They caught the high end of some unsustainable variance during their 5-2 start. I spent some time reading through his rants on some website a while back. Maybe it was his own? I don't know, but it was unintentionally hilarious. He's a stat twister who can parlay Jameis's numbers into him being legitimately better than every HOF QB there is.

Exactly. If you didn’t know better you would walk away thinking Jameis is unquestionably the GOAT.Kress wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 9:14 amPrimeminister wrote: ↑Wed Mar 23, 2022 9:02 pm

It's good that even mdb has someone in the NFL he can look at and say "wow, he's a lot like me.""I can do everything your favorite quarterback can do. Hopefully I’m your favorite quarterback. But I can. Like that’s just what my talent speaks for that."

He sounds like someone who is woefully worried about keeping his paycheck. While most people should be/are I think the dude knows he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is and just bullshits his way into a false sense of security as a coping mechanism and to make people forget about what he does wrong.
