Welcome G Shaq Mason
Re: Welcome G Shaq Mason
If Zion Johnson or Kenyon Green are still on the board when we draft I want to go that route even with this signing. I can’t think of a better way to help Brady this draft as my first choice, a stud RB so we don’t have to concern ourselves with Lenny, does not seem to be out there this year.
Why not replace Marpet with a player with the potential to be as effective as he was or maybe even more so? LFG

Yeah, ideally Stinnie is a 3rd guard. I'm a bit concerned about not having a good option behind him in case he gets Peter Principled.Brazen331 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:37 pm If Zion Johnson or Kenyon Green are still on the board when we draft I want to go that route even with this signing. But the good thing about this move is, we should no longer feel we HAVE to go guard with that first pick. We have two guys we know we can start now.

Mason ranked as the fourth-best guard in all of football in 2021, per Pro Football Focus, and he's maintained a stellar level of play dating back to the 2016 season.
We got him for a 5th??

Bill Belichick once traded away 25 year old Chandler Jones for a 2nd rounder. Who can understand his ways?

Re: Welcome G Shaq Mason
All he did after trading Jones was go to 3 straight Super Bowls and win 2 of them.
Belichick understands the football business better than anyone ever. Sure his team won't set a ton of records, win a ton of individual accolades. But they'll win games.

And Brady can cheat to that side of the line to make up for Smith's fat ass on the other end.Defense5599 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 4:33 pm Major major upgrade over Alex Cappa. With Mason next to Wirfs, that side of the line is going to be a bitch to handle for opposing defenses.
Now Hainsey and Stinnie can compete at LG with the loser being the number one backup.

Can we trade a 6th for Lael Collins now?

Don't get clouded by Wirfs - first year linemen are generally a bit of a liability. I'm not saying don't draft one (or two or three), I'm just saying don't expect him to be plug-and-play.
Re: Welcome G Shaq Mason
I read somewhere on these pages that we picked up a compensatory 7th this year for losing Haeg last year. I know it's not much, but it's something. Someone else mentioned the possibility of trading down with our 1st round pick and maybe picking up an extra 2nd and 3rd. All I'm saying is that all is not lost on the draft front just yet.MJW wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:36 pm Ahhh, I hate how little draft capital we have this year, but this was a nice pickup. One of the shortest linemen in the league but one of the better ones. Still only 28 with 98 career starts. Grades out really well with PFF and the like. Has played with TB12 before. Under contract for two full years for a little over $7 mil this year and $8.5 mil next year.
Well done, Licht.

I am enthusiastically in favor of trading down for more picks.

Depends on the likes of who’s available. I trust Licht’s ability to trust his scouting department.whistlepig777 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 3:27 pm I am enthusiastically in favor of trading down for more picks.
Re: Welcome G Shaq Mason
Maybe. It really depends on who is there when we pick. There's more than one way to fill a roster. Great Free Agency doesn't just mean at the top. We've gotten great contributors like Stinnie, Nacho, and Grayson in Free Agency too.
This draft is thick in all the right places.

One would think nybf and his red button would be all over this.

Better go write the rulePrimeminister wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:49 pmIncorrect. You cannot discuss who we should be picking at X pick in TD. There is a forum for that. I’ve noticed that you’ve posted draft thoughts there within the last 24 hours. Keep doing so.

Use the common sense everyone else has around here and post in the correct forum. I don’t care to write a new rule for every issue that confuses you.mdb1958 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 12:14 amBetter go write the rulePrimeminister wrote: ↑Fri Mar 25, 2022 10:49 pm

So you admit Pete and nybf were running around and attacking me under false pretenses - good to know.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 7:01 amUse the common sense everyone else has around here and post in the correct forum. I don’t care to write a new rule for every issue that confuses you.
Actually everyone knew it all along.
Me posting a name that could replace Kevin Minter is relevant to the 2022 offseason.
Re: Welcome G Shaq Mason
Pfffttt!! That you don't realize NYBF and PetePierson are the same people is depressing after all of this time. I suppose you think that ole JawBreaker/JackBootedThug/PG were different folks too? And McFan? Who do you think that is? Good grief!mdb1958 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 9:43 amSo you admit Pete and nybf were running around and attacking me under false pretenses - good to know.Primeminister wrote: ↑Sat Mar 26, 2022 7:01 am

Now address your deeds - whoever you are. Are you the owner or just the guy who has no rules.
Re: Welcome G Shaq Mason
For a bright boy you sure are slow to answer. As nybf who gave you the authority to track people down and get them banned? It's just somethin I'd like to know.

I'll admit it, I'm actually the literate, sane portion of mdb's shattered psyche. He doesn't know it, though.
