I hope for alot of injuries tonight

They both spell serious trouble for us with Wirfs going out. These are two of the most ferocious pass defenses in the league.
This is a piece of analysis here…not gloom and doom:
I think the replacement of Wirfs with Wells requires us to defend right at the absolute limits of our defensive means. As such (because we’ve been so utterly inconsistent on defense this year…just random terribleness and then random dominance from half to half, drive to drive, game to game), this reduces our chances of victory more than any loss not named Brady. We can weather Godwin and AB. But we just lost, arguably the best RT in football and we’re replacing him with a “just sufficient backup” who is battling injuries of his own.
I’ll be shocked if we win regardless of who we play, but I’d say Arizona is a slightly better matchup for us because if Bowles calls the right game and White/JTS play at their upper limit of their ability, we can contain this offense and get some turnovers and short fields to help our offense.
I don’t feel good about our defense matching up against the Rams O/McVay.

Give me the Rams. We've played them. We can learn from that game. Stafford showed over the course of the year that he can't be trusted from play to play. They still don't run the ball particularly well. Their defense has seemingly taken a step back. And they miss Robert Woods.
Cardinals on the other hand are just adding Superstars back to their lineup. Watt is returning today. D-Hop could be back for the divisional game. They play better on the road than any team in football. And while this might mean nothing, they are undefeated playing outside this year. They don't really have any glaring weaknesses either. This is the type of team you don't ask for.

I would rather play the Rams, I think. Stafford has regressed compared to when we played them earlier this season, and the Cardinals are getting Watt and Hopkins back, two excellent players.

Rams down both of their starting safeties tonight with Rapp out now. Be interesting to see how much Weddle has in the tank.

Whoever we end up playing, just remember they will have to fly into Tampa from the west coast and they will be on a short week. I hope they beat the shit outta each other tonight. That way, whoever is left standing will be too sore to handle this team come Sunday.
We've got a slightly better matchup with the Cards. The Rams have too much firepower on both sides of the ball. We've proven earlier this season that we are no match for them.

I'd prefer the Rams also. We are more familiar with them even though we're 0-2 in our regular season match-ups the past two seasons.
Both games have been close and the game this season at SoFi was arguably the best game of the season for that Rams team. The Robert Woods injury has also hurt, not that OBJ can't hurt you, he's just not as integrated into that McVay offense anywhere close to what Woods was. OBJ makes backyard/schoolyard type plays when things breakdown and offschedule.
That said, the Cards haven't played like the team they were in October either.
I'm just glad it's at home.

If Wirfs is out completely flip the script and just go heavy against whoever it is. 3 TE's. Try to run it all day.
Don't make the mistake the Chiefs made against us in the SB.

Beating the Rams in the playoffs. I wouldn't want it any other way. Revenge 22 years later to the day.

Give me the Rams, take the revenge tour like we did the Saints.

This. If we try to spread it out without Wirfs we deserve to get our asses kicked.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Jan 17, 2022 3:29 pm If Wirfs is out completely flip the script and just go heavy against whoever it is. 3 TE's. Try to run it all day.

Stafford looks like he’s digging the bright lights.

Kyler Murray looked lost out there. He clearly wasn't ready for the big stage.
