Walk The Plank- Panthers

Post by Defense5599 »

My Walk the Plank goes to DC Todd Bowles. For whatever reason, this defense could not get off the field the entire first half and a good portion of the second. They were getting killed on the underneath routes and checkdown passes.

Honorable Mention to Kevin Minter for being as slow as molasses out there. Let's hope LVD can come back for the playoffs.

Devin White. I'm starting to see that there's an issue with him.

His issue is not having LVD there to catch him over the top. That will change come the playoffs.

They also gave up FIVE 4th down conversions!!!

Time isnt improving the situation either, a hip can make you never the same. Pretty much the whole season I don't think LVD has been 100% and inside linebacker is the main reason of our weakened run defense. Brate is trying to maintain but I can see he isnt the same player because of his hip surgery or ? All I know is his hands don't catch everything now and he rarely had that happen.

The hip surgery he had 3 years ago made his hands stop working this year?

With Brate I don't know what it is so I did this "?" I have seen him miss bad throws and good defense has made him miss his share, now I have noticed that he has missed quite a few easy catches.

I don't know how many drops he had this year, but Brate only had 30 catches on 57 targets (52.6%) in 17 games. Not very good when compared to our other receivers with over 50 targets.

Gronk was 61.8% (55 on 89 targets) in 12 games.
Evans was 65.7% (71 on 108 targets) in 16 games.
Johnson was 67.3% (35 on 52 targets) in 15 games.
Brown was 67.7% (42 on 62 targets) in 7 games.
Godwin was 77.2% (98 on 127 targets) in 14 games.

Grayson was only targeted 12 times in 5 games but he caught 10 of them for 83.3% (that includes 2 games with zero targets).

I would venture that Brate has the most TD's for fewest receptions in Buc history. He was 82.4% last year.

He has caught more TD's than James Wilder, Warrick Dunn, and Mike Alstott combined. In many many fewer attempts.

He also has more td catches than Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, John Lynch, and Tom Brady combined! He might be the greatest Buccaneer to ever walk the earth.

Brate had only 4 TDs this season. Gronk had 6. 14 for Evans

I guess we can walk him on the plank Sunday then.
