Re: College Prospects
PFF's #1 graded WR - offer a UDFA contract and lets take a look..
I looked at his profile and he catches everything thrown at him.

Re: College Prospects
Just looking at his 2024 stats he's absolutely on somebody's radar. And he keeps getting better every season.mdb1958 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2025 7:44 am PFF's #1 graded WR - offer a UDFA contract and lets take a look..

I didnt look at every prospect board out there - he may not even be on them.
Pro Football Network has him ranked as the 511th player probably because he played for Eastern Washington.
Re: College Prospects
Draftek has him the 38th WR and 335th overall.
We'll have to see some tape.

This is what my (I guess you could say is my hobby). Look for the table scraps that fell on the floor and the dog didnt even eat them.
The different ways to get a player a look from somewhere way past the amount of draft picks we have.

It made me go look up Welker and Edelman and I noticed Edelman didnt really take off until Welker left. So I think you have to have that QB/WR connection.

@Zarni Tell his agent to ask Tampa for a tryout!

When I mentioned him he was ranked in the 600's and now the sim I did had GB draft him in the 7th.
Re: College Prospects
Do a mock where you take him in the third round and see what happens.
You could make this guy millions!

Re: College Prospects
I wonder if Bowles could make this guy an ILB?
Robert Spears-Jennings S Oklahoma
draft buzz gives him a 5th round grade and I don't think I done a sim where he gets drafted

Re: College Prospects
Scouting Report: Summary
Robert Spears-Jennings is a hard-hitting safety who thrives when he can play downhill and attack. His best football showed up when Oklahoma let him get aggressive in the box and around the line of scrimmage. Any defense looking for a tone-setter who can crack skulls in run support will have this kid circled on day three.
The frame and play style scream NFL box safety, but there's more in the tank here. He's shown enough range and instincts in zone to suggest he could grow into a more complete player. His tape against West Virginia and Oklahoma State jumps off the screen - flying around making plays and bringing an energy that lifted the whole defense.
You're betting on traits and trajectory here. The limited starts are a concern, but this is a kid who got better every time he stepped on the field. Put him in the right system with some development time, and you might have yourself a steal. The special teams value is there from day one while the rest catches up.
Re: College Prospects
I don't know, he must be still growing.
Re: College Prospects
@Cheb What is it that makes Suntarine Perkins so special in the Ole Miss defense?
Re: College Prospects
The fact that he's that small and can do anything as a box defender is pretty impressive.
I'm not sold on an Edge who weighs 210. I'm normally the first guy to say that measurables are overrated, but that's so comically small it would make him (to my knowledge at least) definitely the smallest Edge I've ever seen and probably smallest linebacker as well.
Perkins is 25 pounds lighter than LVD. He's only 7 pounds heavier than Antoine Winfield Jr and 11 pounds heavier than Zyon McCollum.
If Perkins gains 20 pounds of good weight, he has a shot in the right scheme. As is, he's not a Sunday player imo.

Re: College Prospects
14 sacks in 98 tackles seems pretty productive, it's like they were giving him the go if he recognized pass and he was to quick to stop.Cheb wrote: ↑Sat Jul 05, 2025 1:11 amThe fact that he's that small and can do anything as a box defender is pretty impressive.

The odd part to me is his position as linebacker in doing it. Or he just cleaned up because the d-line created movement.
