Glad you made it over!FtMyersBuc wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 4:47 amHe was a Freshman when I was a Senior. I remember watching him play that year. Then the Bucs drafted him the year after I moved here. He’s the reason I became a Bucs fan.0-26 Survivor wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 7:55 pm
Went out the other day and was wearing my black Purdue Alstott jersey. It was fun watching people’s faces like, wuuuuut?” I thought he was a Buc?”

Fantastic stat.Cheb wrote: ↑Wed Sep 08, 2021 6:34 pm Favorite Buc? Probably Derrick Brooks, but it's a close race.
Favorite non-Buc? Jerry Rice.
Wanna know my favorite Jerry Rice stat? Check out the list of NFL career receiving yardage after turning age 40:
First place - Jerry Rice - 2509 yards
Second place - Tom Brady - 6 yards
Third place - Brett Favre - Negative 2 yards
Bucs- Barber. Sapp close. Devin White is quickly emerging tho.
NFL- Troy P and Ed Reed. I was a Peyton Manning fan boy during the rivalry but Brady has completely won me over.

Of course, I’m not a new poster, but I’m replying to this anyway. I’ve said before that my favorite Buc was Alstott. But, I’ll tell you what, Mike Evans has crept right up there. Now when I peek over my shoulders, I have Mike’s behind each one.
Evans, like Alstott, is the consummate pro. Great player. Great teammate. Great human. Loves his fans. Loves the game. Intelligent. Humble. What more could you ask for?

Easily the best offensive draft pick in franchise history. Longevity, accomplishments, and everything you said. His lack of hubris and negative attitude should be studied. He was here during the best and worst of times.Buc2 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 6:27 pmOf course, I’m not a new poster, but I’m replying to this anyway. Re: All-time favorite NFL player... Bucs and otherwise.
Breaking it up into past/current and offense/defense.
Past offense: Ricky Bell, oh what could have been. RIP. Also Paul Gruber and Dave Moore (seemed like he would end up a Bucs player forever)
Current Offense: Mike Evans and Tristan Wirfs. Godwin up there as well.
Past Defense: Richard ‘Batman’ Wood, Lee Roy Selmon, and Derrick Brooks.
Current Defense: Lavonte David, Vita Vea and Zyon McCollum.
Lot of other guys I could swap out for depending on the day you ask, and if I have to pick one of each I’m probably going Evans and David. At least today.
NFL non-Buc currently would be Joe Burrow and Kyle Hamilton.
When I was a kid, Roger Staubach (my dad served with him) and Kenny Easley.

I hear you. I originally replied to this thread with Brooks as my Buc. If I would have gone down the list from there, Evans might have been ranked in the 6-7 range. Now I'm struggling with him as either 1A or 1B.
