I liked Ga Tech when they were the only P5 team running the flex option.

This is where the system could get really nuts. You could have 4 SEC teams in the playoff: Georgia, Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss. Tennessee ends the year ranked No. 9 in the country, losing just a couple of games to say Georgia and Bama. An unranked Kansas wins the Big 12 and a No. 23 Clemson wins the ACC. Clemson is the No. 3 seed in the tournament, Kansas is No. 4, and Tennessee is left out of the CFP because the final spot has to go to a Group of 5 champion per the rules. This all because the CFP feels so bad for what happened to FSU a year ago that they feel the ACC champion has to get not just an automatic berth but a top 4 seed.

That's the scenario the SEC/Big 10 is waiting for so they can break-a-way from the CFP and create their own league and tournament.

Solution: get rid of automatic playoff bids.

Alot can happen on college football over time. If in ten years the Big 12 or whatever doesn't produce a conference champion who is one of the 12 best teams in the sport, then they shouldn't get in. The 12 best teams should.

Agree. And I think this is only a 2-year trial before they potentially go to 14 teams or change the rules a bit.

Near the end, our entire section was yelling "let them score" because it was better to get the ball back than to watch the clock bleed with 3 yards, 4 yards, 7 yards, 2 yards, 4 yards, another 4 yards. It's disgusting to watch.

Nah. Calvin played under Chan Gailey and was pretty productive as a collegian. The Flexbone option offense was brought to Georgia Tech by Paul Johnson two seasons after Calvin left after his junior season.

Defending the flexbone triple option is irksome, but if you run blitz on early downs it becomes far more manageable, even moreso if you have an experienced defense who is assignment sound.

I just can't understand the Sanders hype. I'm consistently seeing him ranked in the top, sometimes as the top QB. There are so many better QBs out there. Miller Moss, for example, looked lightyears ahead of Sanders in the USC vs LSU game.

He makes boneheaded decisions and gets away with everything because he has a freak WR to throw to.
