You... think games are won and lost on the yard stat rankings?
Godwin was the #2 WR in 2019 behind MT in FOOTBALL is what I said.
You wanted to be a technical smart-ass a say "he was 3rd in yards and 3rd in TDs so what EXACTLY was he 2nd at??"
So I told stat. Now you want to say that stat isn't what matters, real football does, so round and round we go.
No Michael Thomas, what WR had the best 2019? I'll wait.

What's your bold prediction for the upcoming season? The Bears will outperform the Lions in terms of wins. The Buccaneers will secure a playoff spot for the fifth consecutive year.
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
A resolution in the alleged free agent tampering cases of the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles is likely to come this week, per league sources. The Falcons have been investigated for the contact they may or may not have had with then-free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins before he signed with Atlanta. The Eagles have been investigated for the contact they may or not have had with then-free agent running back Saquon Barkley. The NFL has spoken to various members of both organizations. One league source indicated that the Falcons' alleged transgressions are considered more significant, and the discipline is expected to be more severe for Atlanta.

This is why you draft a QB while you got a first rounder to do it.

Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
Are you saying Atlanta knew they were going to be punished for tampering and decided to take a QB now because they don’t expect to have the assets to get one in the near future?
Interesting theory. Let’s hope they’re punished that severely.
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
They will be suspended from playing the 2024 season? They will have to give their first round draft picks for the next five year to the Vikings?Phantom wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 11:17 pmA resolution in the alleged free agent tampering cases of the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles is likely to come this week, per league sources. Yes. Draft a QB in the first round in case you lose your first round pick for tampering. Because THAT happens all the time and totally isn’t avoidable

This tampering nonsense is such a bullshit.
They created a tampering period because everyone was tampering. Now the tampering period begins and within minutes deals are getting tweeted out. Everyone's still not following the spirit of the rule, so what's so special about this case?

Wait.....You draft a QB while you got a first rounder to do it(which every team has every year unless they trade it) because it could be taken away for tampering?
Are you saying that teams who draft QBs 1st round do so AFTER they know they tampering?

He’s saying they knew/know they were going to get popped for tampering so are using their early pick this year to grab a QB now when they have the early assets to do so.
Don’t know what they’ll lose, but if it’s significant maybe that theory rings true?

Yea, that's part of my question. Is he saying that teams do this regularly, thinking they'll be hit with tampering so they draft QBs 1st round?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 6:24 pm He’s saying they knew/know they were going to get popped for tampering so are using their early pick this year to grab a QB now when they have the early assets to do so.

I don't think losing a first round pick is very common so it can't be something that happens regularly. I think he is saying they found themselves in a unique situation and tried to make the best of it.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 6:35 pmYea, that's part of my question. Is there any doubt that it's quite obvious?

The only players that should be at the voluntary OTA's are new & fringe players. If guys like Evans, White, Godwin, David, Wirfs, or Winfield aren't there... I don't care.

@mdb1958 do you think Justin Simmons lived for Maryjane like Randy Gregory?

I just don't understand how a guy goes from All-Pro team last season to cut and still on the free agent market.

Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
I wouldn't say I trolled her, but last off-season her and I heavily debated Mayfield and his potential success on this team. I recall her disappearing sometime after the 3-1 start when everything was looking as good as (I had predicted). Granted I was also open to the idea of Caleb Williams, but I just think Baker may be one of those guys who ends up shining the second half of his career. I believe he can win a SB as long as we have the right pieces and our defense balls out.

The Falcons were docked a 5th in the next draft for tampering.
