On Monday May 13, NBC Sports announced that the network acquired an additional NFL game for this upcoming season. This game will take place on Saturday, Dec. 21, which presumably falls on Week 16.

What the fuck, I definitely missed that they were doing the Friday opener the day after the usual Thursday opener...
Has that been common knowledge? Weird...
The Friday night Eagles/Packers game is in Brazil.

Yea, that's the important part. And like @acmillis mentioned I think it was around April when they announced this game along with the home teams for the Europe games.

I hope about 3 people watch it and that result helps cut back on all the NFL whoring.
A guy can dream....
Peacock or the NFL couldn't care less about viewership. That's not how they get paid. They get paid via subscriptions. And as of recently Peacock has 31mil paid subscribers. Their lowest base price is $5.99/month. You do the math. That's over $185mil/month they're bringing in.
Take those with a grain of salt. They've been so wrong already. They "reported" Chiefs vs Falcons week 2, and we now know the Chiefs will host the Bengals. Also changed up a Giants/Eagles matchup. They've missed a lot.

I understand, though. Gotta get those clicks. And, I mean, come on... Are they really so much different than us fans speculating on everything? It's all just part of the fun. Offseason is long. Gotta have some fun while we wait for the games to begin again.
