AVOID this QB
Re: AVOID this QB
I think I read somewhere that he believes Williams is a bust and has a 4th round grade.
Re: AVOID this QB
I love contrarians in this space because consensus is wrong every year.

Re: AVOID this QB
I watched the SC/GA game this year. Rattler didn’t have great stats, but I remember coming away from that game thinking it was similar to the game Mahomes had against us in the Super Bowl.
Running for is life, off platform throws, making play after play with his legs when necessary. He was the best player on the field.
I would not at all be surprised if his best football is ahead of him in the NFL.
Kind of hope we draft him or Milton in the 3rd if we can.

Re: AVOID this QB
Warning. Watching those will make you want Xavier Legette too.
Re: AVOID this QB
Legette looks the part, that is for sure
Re: AVOID this QB
PFF lists Jayden Daniels #1 strength as his rushing ability
A quarterback
Biggest strength? Rushing ability
BUST

Re: AVOID this QB
I disagree with PFF here.
While Jayden Daniel's most unique and electrifying abilities are as an elusive and explosive runner, it's his improvements and maturity as a passer that won him a Heisman last season. He was just as good a runner in his first year at LSU, but his ability to make plays with his arm leveled up in a big way.
Then again, I'm a sucker for Lamar, and Jayden is cut from the same cloth.
Re: AVOID this QB
So Caleb does not have an agent. Is taking advise from two of his dads management friends. They did meet with agents though, asking if he signed how did they plan to circumvent the salary cap.
Forget his long time to throw, his attitude, or his losing record against good teams. This guy dad sounds like the next LaVar Ball. Kid was told his whole life he's so special and rules are for other people.
Red flags keep piling up.
God I hope Falcons pull a Panthers.

Re: AVOID this QB
LaVar Ball was an ass, but a fairly innocuous (and successful) one.
One of his sons was rookie of the year, an All-Star, and signed a $260m contract extension. The other one signed an $85 million contract after playing out his rookie deal and being drafted number two overall.

Re: AVOID this QB
Caleb declined medical exams? I am thinking he might fall at this point
Re: AVOID this QB
Participating in anything will only cost him $
Re: AVOID this QB
Really? He already comes off immature. He already refused to do anything at the combine. Arrogance, perceived immaturity, cluelessness about the NFL, knowing his father groomed him to be an NFL quarterback means it's his dad's dream and not his dream. He has a lot of red flags......a lot
Re: AVOID this QB
Do you think he’s not gonna be the first pick?
Re: AVOID this QB
Depends how he did in the interview with the Bears, I wouldn't even bet $100 on it. Considering everything else that came out about him, the fact he didn't get an agent to prep him, he is getting advice to some business buddies of his dad and yes absolutely. There are even articles out there that sounds like someone is trying to tank Caleb's draft status or that he may fall due to the deluge of negative things coming out about him
If he interviews poor, and not having an agent is probably the worst thing he has done, then yes, he can fall
While a GM could fall back on "he was clearly the best prospect," it could also come off as "this was a deep draft class and you ignored all these red flags" too
Re: AVOID this QB
Getting major Ryan Leaf vibes from Caleb. His immaturity makes me wonder how coachable hes going to be. Also wonder how he would handle the media when hes on a losing streak.
The scary thing is he has all the ability in the world, so if he is committed then the sky is the limit.
I would love to be a fly on the wall in the interview room.

Re: AVOID this QB
When you already know you’re the first pick there’s no reason to do anything.
Re: AVOID this QB
I think he's locked in top 2 cause of Kliff.
Hey. He may be doing this on purpose to fall to Washington.
Either way I think his draft stock is safe. More so because of the FOs at the top of the draft then the player. If we were picking top 3 I'd hope OBP looked elsewhere.

Re: AVOID this QB
Don’t think J.J. Gets anywhere near 26 at this point.
Re: AVOID this QB
Drew Lock had a meteoric rise late in the process. Fell to mid rounds.
Doubt that happens here. I do find it funny that suddenly this guy is seen as a huge prospect by media outlets.

Re: AVOID this QB
Unless he weighs in something really small, Daniels is pretty easily my QB1.
Re: AVOID this QB
Caleb is Cam 2.0 and that has me so torn.

Re: AVOID this QB
Yeah. He’s nothing like Cam. Like, fancy pants in the post game press conference?
Re: AVOID this QB
Supremely talented. All the physical gifts. Can totally win with him, from MVP to SB.
But capable of winning the big one doesn't mean you will. Plenty were fully capable but fate decided differently. Cam for example.
I love Caleb's confidence. Love his presence. Even love the finger nails. All Cam like. So are the short comings.
Both strike me as front runners. On a good team with an OC that fits, they can steamroll people. And once started hard to stop. The inverse is true. When adversity hits they aren't the ones to pull you out, instead sulking alone.
They aren't the ones to pull a locker room together when in a 1-6 rut. They aren't ones to put it on themselves first, that the improvement starts with them. Everyone else is to blame and holding the team back, that's their vibe.
When times are good everyone is riding high. When down, they can sour fast.
Will it work for Caleb in Chicago? Meh. Maybe but doubtful. But that's more a reflection of Chicago. With say Reid, he'd be boss. But so would Baker. NFL is funny that way. I like Waldron actually, but if it doesn't click right away you could be looking at a staff shuffle.
Re: AVOID this QB
I’ve been saying it since Jayden was a true freshman at Arizona State. He has an elite deep ball, if nothing else. And there’s a lot else.
