Not delivering points off of takeaways, special teams gaffes. Those come to mind immediately.

I can't speak for @BucsNBills, but my comment was meant purely as humor.Onthebrink wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 10:58 pmThis conspiracy theory nonsense w/o any actual evidence is a fault of social media. They'll get it too. The league isn't going to let the Chiefs and Mahomes completely supplanting Brady and the Patriots.
It's a sign of the times, sadly.

You're blaming Shanahan for a punt clanking off the back of a guy's leg?
If anything he should receive a coach of the decade award for getting two clearly outmatched QBs into a Super Bowl

Re: Superbowl LVIII Discussion
I didn't think Shanahan was bad at all last night. I understand they got pass happy in the 3rd quarter, but they are a terrible 3rd and long team and they got stuffed a few times. I understand the shift to try to stay out of those situations. They typically live off YAC and the Chiefs tackle really well outside of that TD by Jennings.
I would like to see him move Brock more. He's pretty athletic and outside of play action, there aren't really any QB rollouts in the SF playbook.
I think most would agree that Shanahan is a top 3 coach in the NFL. It's hard to get over the hump. Reid didn't do it until get got a top 3 all-time QB, he got close a ton, but people said he sucked in the big game. I think Shanahan will break through at some point and this will be forgotten...he's too good of a coach.

Not sure why it would need to occur as a team when the ref literally explained it before OT started......

That’s very fair and apt point about Reid.uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 9:50 am I didn't think Shanahan was bad at all last night. Re: Superbowl LVIII Discussion
It was also irrelevant, because they’d have also lost following the previous/Regular season rules.
The defense shouldn’t have needed a strategy meeting. Their job was to stop them from scoring.

No one snatches defeat from the jaws of victory like Shanahan.

She wasn't thinking about the Seahawks being in the AFC 22 years ago.

Re: Superbowl LVIII Discussion
A little change of subject.... why do they use Roman numerals for the Super Bowl? Why do they use Roman numerals for anything these days?

I heard it was originally done to provide a clear distinction between the Super Bowl and the season (especially since the Super Bowl is now played in the calendar year following the season that led to it).
2023 Super Bowl 58 Champs looks odd.
2023 Super Bowl LVIII Champs is somehow better.
Plus, yeah. Makes it all fancy pants using the Romans.

My God. Usually the Super Bowl hangover happens in the next season for the losing team. The Niners is literally happening now..
