I think it should be no surprise women like violent male sports. Those sports (NFL, NHL, MMA, UFC, etc.) have strong, Type A men in them. The type of men that, for millennia, have most attracted the females. I think they've always been there...the media is just now taking notice, though.

This dude has always been obsessed with us. Whether we are the cellar dwellers of the division or winning the Super Bowl and taking the divison years in a row.

I don't think the NFL cares about that at all when it comes to these exclusive Amazon or Peacock deals, those services basically buy the games and get to keep the advertising profits.
Peacock paid $110mm for that single Chiefs/Dolphins game.
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
You're gonna have to show that the league is losing money there and spoiler alert: You can't because they aren't.

No, they’re definitely making money. The point is they’re siloing their viewership.
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
Exactly! And had the viewership been 4 households total the NFL wouldn't give a damn because they'd have made out like bandits.uscbucsfan1 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 5:07 pmI don't think the NFL cares about that at all when it comes to these exclusive Amazon or Peacock deals, those services basically buy the games and get to keep the advertising profits.

Just wait until Superbowl 66 is streamed exclusively on Hulu. Then you'll see how "siloed" their viewership is. And yes I could absolutely see Disney forking over $1 billion or something to have exclusive rights to the biggest TV event of the year.
Edit: It might be before that. I'm seeing that Superbowl 61 will be on ESPN in 2027.

Hmm. I never thought about this possibility. That would be insane dude.Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 5:41 pmJust wait until Superbowl 66 is streamed exclusively on Hulu. The very first year of the award, 1967, Detroit had Lem Barney and Mel Farr win DROY/OROY. So this is the 4th time

Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
ESPN is still on most people's TV. Now if they make it ESPN+ only (Disney bundle), then we're talking bold.
Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
Point being the Superbowl had always been on National broadcast TV. Never before on a network cable station.kaimaru wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 6:09 pmAnd on ABCBootz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 5:41 pm

Phantom bold prediction:
Kansas City won't three peat.
Harbaugh and the Chargers to dethrone Chiefs.

Re: ***2024 NFL Offseason thread ***
I don't know how bold it is to predict something won't happen when it has literally never happened before. Just saying.
It might sound silly right now, but if I were giving odds I'd say there's a better chance the Chiefs miss the playoffs next year than there is of them winning another Super Bowl.

Is there any chance this is another team other than the Ravens?

Seriously?Deja Entendu wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 3:17 pmI could see it being Baltimore, for obvious reasons, but I’m voting LAC.
Also, I think the Chargers win the AFC West this season.
The Chargers have the 4th worst cap situation in football going into next season. 44mil+ over the cap. They are not a good team as is and there is talk of them trading their 2 best pass rushers.
Kansas City meanwhile is sitting pretty. They are currently $22mil under the cap. They are the 2nd youngest team in football and have the best player of this generation. Couple that with the fact that Mahomes owns that division.
I'd love to hear where this optimistic outlook of the Chargers comes from. You'd have a case if you said the Broncos, but the Chargers??

So people REALLY believe the league is gonna pass up showcasing the league & Superbowl MVPs to open the season?! Really?

Just like the league passed up on the Chiefs hosting the Bills to open last season to match the Chiefs against Detroit?
The league doesn't always go with what you think they will.
