Re: Wild Card Week Discussion
I've always pictured "America's team" being one that we can all root for just a little bit. The Lions we've grown up watching were not that team, they sucked. But this version of the past couple of years fits that bill for me.
But that may be just me.

Steelers haven’t really been competitive in a playoff game since they narrowly lost to Jacksonville in 2017. Tomlin does the best he can to get them into the playoffs, but he doesn’t have the QB to get anything done.
Also, if those rumors of Tomlin contemplating his future are true I can’t imagine this performance helps his chances of wanting to return.

Blocked FG could be a momentum shift. The Steelers have to capitalize here though.

QB situation has been brutal there since Big Ben began getting hurt and they haven’t been able to find a backup plan. What’s it say to Kenny Pickett that he’s 100% healthy and they’re benching him for Mason Rudolph. They’re pretty much admitting they screwed up their first round pick from last year already.Miller4Prez64 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 5:45 pm Steelers haven’t really been competitive in a playoff game since they narrowly lost to Jacksonville in 2017. Tomlin on pace to give up his 4th consecutive 40 burger in the the playoffs. And people want to trade a 1st for him? No thanks I'll take Bowles all day over that.

No they were giving up 40 burgers in the playoffs with Ben performing at a high level and defense is supposed to be Tomlin side of the ball.Navybuc wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:05 pmQB situation has been brutal there since Big Ben began getting hurt and they haven’t been able to find a backup plan. You realize he won the only Super Bowl that Rodgers ever won, right?Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:38 pm Let some other bad team hire McCarthy so he can build a good team that can’t win it all. Then you fire McCarthy to get your Super Bowl coach.

Solving QB is one of the hardest things to do in the NFL and will cost any HC his job is it goes unsolved long enough. Steelers less trigger happy than most though.Central_Buc wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:11 pmNo they were giving up 40 burgers in the playoffs with Ben performing at a high level and defense is supposed to be Tomlin side of the ball.Navybuc wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 6:05 pm

Fun stat - the Packers now have more playoff wins at AT&T Stadium (3) than the Cowboys do (2)

Yes I do. I also believe he should have won more tbh. If we have an all time great QB and good defense in place then let’s hire McCarthy. That’s the only way he can win it. His teams underperform in comparison to what they should be.kaimaru wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 8:37 pmYou realize he won the only Super Bowl that Rodgers ever won, right?Primeminister wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 7:38 pm Let some other bad team hire McCarthy so he can build a good team that can’t win it all. Jerry Jones does what now? Leave the hot takes at home and let the adults do the talking.
