Re: Week 16 Discussion
That's game. So no matter what on Sunday, we'll go into week 17 in 1st place in the division.

Re: Week 16 Discussion
I’m pulling for Miami, Baltimore or Buffalo to win the Super Bowl now that my Packers are out. I cannot root for most of the NFC as I cannot stand most of the teams in the playoff picture. Philly I don’t mind.

Concussion protocol. Either you pass or you don't. And if you don't you don't play.

If we beat the saints next week, we win the division.
OR
If we beat jags and Panthers, we win the division.

Re: Week 16 Discussion
Saw this QB power ranking thru week 15. They have Mayfield at #12 (up from #18 in the previous week).
https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2023/1 ... ek-15.html
Baker Mayfield is doing his best to make the most of his one-year audition in Tampa Bay. He has the Buccaneers tied for first place in the NFC South at 7-7 and coming off possibly his best game as a professional in a 34-20 win in Green Bay on Sunday.
Mayfield made NFL history by becoming the first visiting quarterback in the long history of Lambeau Field to record a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3. He was 22 of 28 passing for 381 yards and four touchdowns. It was also the first time he had a game with a perfect QB rating in his career.

We also need to win vs the Jags Sunday to win the division against the Saints the following week

That's what we do. That's what he got drafted here to do, to be a great player that can step in for me and Lavonte [David] and he's did just that. Just like I was supporting him when I wasn't playing, if I did play, I was going to support him, whatever the case may be."
White called the injury "one of the toughest things I've ever dealt with. ... My mindset is like, 'Man, I got to be out there. I make the team go. I make the defense go. But if you can't be yourself, then you can't really go out there and help your team -- more so hurting them.' And that's something that me and Coach Bowles had like a father-to-son talk, because that's how I look at him. He's like, 'D, I got to get you back healthy. I got to help you get healthy so you can help the team.'"
When asked whether he would be OK rotating with Britt, he said, "Oh that would be perfectly fine. They on a three-game winning streak. So that's really good. Because we're trying to fight to get in the playoffs. And I know there will be something for me to do to help contribute, whether it's cheering them on even more. Everybody can go back and watch the Panthers game. I was on the sideline in the rain. I could have went up to my box and watched the game. I stayed on the sideline to be there for those guys."

Re: Week 16 Discussion
I may be just looking at it jaded, but:
Referring to the team as "they" when he's not playing on it. Claiming responsibility for individually driving the defense (especially when his freelancing is a routine problem with it). Taking credit for being on the sideline because it was raining and icky out.
I just didn't like the vibe of the whole thing.

Seems very much like he's taking a "me, me, me" attitude towards all this.Kress wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 9:22 amI may be just looking at it jaded, but:

Re: Week 16 Discussion
That’s not accurate. Tie breaker is conference record which we currently hold a two game lead on NO.
No matter what, if we beat NO next week, we win the division.

The more I think about it, the sideline thing really comes across bad. I could have been up in the luxury box, but no, I was down amongst the people. Watching K.J. do what he was drafted to do, which is to fill in for me when I'm not out there running the show.
Re: Week 16 Discussion
It seems like if Bucs win 2 of their next 3 (doesn't matter which ones), they will waltz their way into a division title. Can someone else confirm if Bucs can afford to lose against Saints if they beat the Jags?
Re: Week 16 Discussion
I understand Bucs cannot afford to lose to both jaguars and saints. Is that the scenario you are concerned about?
Re: Week 16 Discussion
Beat the Jaguars.
Re: Week 16 Discussion
Close out the season 10-7 and then win 4 in a row.

Lambs play the Saints this week. If the Rams take them out, booya.
Re: Week 16 Discussion
Yes, if we beat the Panthers. Any two wins get us the division. Win the next two weeks and we can rest easy week 18.
Re: Week 16 Discussion
Exactly. Atlanta would win the division in that scenario. We need to win this week and next to not have any issues.
