Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
Maybe I should roll that back some though to point out Georgia has like 11 1st round picks the last two seasons. Lol.
Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
Here's a question, how much do you put the roster sucking on BB? He's the HC/GM sure... but should he be? Is it his fault? You ask any HC how much more weight they want their opinion to have and they'll all tell you more. The more success you have to more weight you get, the more rope you get. 6 SBs gets you ALL the rope.... more than enough to hang pretty much any HC. But what's a HC to say, "no thanks, just pick the guy you want"? Of course not.
BB would be hella interesting in Tampa if we keep Licht on as GM. Licht is one of the best GMs at hearing out his coaches and understanding what they need while still being the guy who ultimately makes the roster calls. I think he could provide BB with a hell of a roster to run. The same crux will exist though, which is nailing down that OC/QB combo. We know BB is pretty shit at picking his own.

Are you hearing the BB still wants to coach?Doctor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 12:05 pm Here's a question, how much do you put the roster sucking on BB? He's the HC/GM sure... but should he be? Who knows. Mac Jones and Tampa Tom have no doubt left a sour taste in his mouth and Tom with the last laugh.
Not that BB needs any more feathers, but getting the record would indeed be the last one in the cap.

Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
You have to think he'd like to go out on a "winning without Tom" note. Tom removed all doubt. BB hasn't.
Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
Indeed. However unfair as it might be. Whether HC or QB, you need a complete team to win. There are a few that offer him a chance, but oh boy it's still hard to do.
15 wins in 2 seasons is much more doable and a great note to end on.

I think Belichick is done.

Seconded.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 11:48 amAlways chuckle at this take. How many players do you think Georgia/Michigan/Alabama have on their roster that will be drafted or UDFA in the NFL?
Even the high end college teams may have roughly 20 guys in a given year that will eventually ever make it to the league. At best. With several of them being freshmen who haven't nearly grown into their bodies.
New England has 53+ NFL players no matter how much they "suck."
The difference between college and the men's league is as big as the difference between high school and college. Even the best college teams would get flattened by the worst NFL franchises.

I'm not saying I want BB here or he would come here but I do think it would be hysterical if he came and won a Super Bowl here.
Imagine the collective howl coming from the Boston area, lol

I am completely amazed that Staley is still with LAC.
BB should go to LAC
BB should go to LAC
Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
I agree with you in general principle. But the 2011 Bucs by December of that year would likely be an exception to that rule. They were a very young team with Ronde as the only proven vet on the roster and they basically had the body language of a team that wished the season ended by Nov of 2011.Cheb wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 2:38 pmSeconded.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Wed Dec 13, 2023 11:48 am

Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
That would be sick, assuming he's but the GM and Kellen Moore can run the offense.
Herbert only needs a below average defense to make the chargers truly dangerous. Hell, even just a bad defense would be an upgrade to the pile of shit Staley has put on display since taking over. BB would get Herbert that and much more.
Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
Congratulations to Staley for moving firmly ahead of the line of the coaches on the hot seat. I found the tweets funny last night asking if a coach had ever been fired at halftime and asking whether he gets fired on the runway or when they get back to L.A. That was brutal.
Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
A sign of a bad organization, firing your coach midseason after a horrible performance. when it was clear to everyone who isnt a total idiot that you should’ve fired him in the off-season.
Staley and GM fired

Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
Especially 14 games into the season. But as we all know the Chargers are a very bad organization. And this is not an attractive job. They'll be $45mil+ over the cap next season. Their best players with the exception of Herbert are getting old. They haven't drafter particularly well.
Speaking of Herbert, is he the guy? He puts up good numbers but he doesn't exactly elevate those around him. Would new GM/HC opt to start fresh, move Herbert and some of these other players for draft capital to jolt a rebuild? It'll be intriguing m

Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
It finally happened. We'll see what happens, but if rumors of BB going to the Chargers turn out to be true, it would be fascinating to see what he can do with the QB postion on lockdown again.
But it's the chargers so they'll either fuck up on the hire or if they do get BB, they'll still find a way to squander Herbert.

It's about time. Finally.
Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
If cutting Shaq Barrett did not have a tremendous effect on the cap, it would make sense to trade for Mack who could be had for a bag of peanuts considering Chargers' cap issues. We need a difference making pass rusher to help the defense in general and the growth of Kancey and Diaby.Bootz wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 12:15 pmEspecially 14 games into the season. As expected
The Washington Commanders will fire head coach Ron Rivera and some front office members at the end of the regular season as new owner Josh Harris wants "to move on."

Re: 2023 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Thread
That would make him tied for the highest HC pay in the league. Behind Bill Belichick and Sean Payton, tied with Pete Carroll and Sean McVay.
All those dudes have one or more Superbowl rings as head coaches. And this guy wants to get paid on that level?
Good luck.

Pretty sure Ben used that clearly bogus info to sniff out which member of his inner circle leaks his personal information to the media.
What a ridiculous report.

He hasn't even completed his 2nd season as an offensive coordinator yet. I'd understand if this were some record setting, all time great offense.Cheb wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 7:47 pmThat would make him tied for the highest HC pay in the league. Wonder if the Detroit media will ask him about this.

It's quite amusing how Bowles, the one with the hot seat will be the one to win the division for two consecutive years. LOL.

Can’t hurt to ask. He’s going to be the hottest candidate on the market. And when it’s going to be organizations like Chicago and Carolina that come calling? Yeah, the money talks.Cheb wrote: ↑Thu Dec 21, 2023 7:47 pmThat would make him tied for the highest HC pay in the league. Behind Bill Belichick and Sean Payton, tied with Pete Carroll and Sean McVay.
