Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Doctor telling us all to settle down and things aren’t that bad for over a decade now. Wrong every single time except when the greatest player in NFL history joined the team. And who was even complaining then?
Such a tired schtick

Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Fire Canales btw. The guy unnecessarily coaches Bucs to snap the ball in a hurry before the 2 minute warning, only to commit a penalty. Then follows it up with a run play on 2nd and 8.

He's just trolling and fishing for bites at this point
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
You have 5 years of data of a Canales offense headed by Baker? Really? Oh no, you don't, so just stfu.
Everyone of these losers were dead set certain how Brady wouldn't work with Arians. If we could go back to the TBBBB you'll see them hella mad that we got "we know who he is" Brad Johnson instead of sticking with Shaun King or for not tanking for David Carr or Joey Harrington. Both were highly preferred courses to JAG Brad.
They take the ever safe position of saying "that won't ever worK" to everything/ From how we'd never win with Pittman at RB or D Smith at LT and beyond. And when things do work out it was a series of incredibly lucky events by a series of incompetent people.

^^ you mean the Arians offense that didn’t click until Tom Brady added patriots elements to it and made it fit *himself*?
Holy shit

What was the score when Trey Palmer had that easy drop on 2nd and 17? Huge play.

It should be. He has no business being on this team. It's not fair to him or the Bucs.Cheb wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:05 pmMike Evans has about half our offensive touchdowns, and he's staring down the barrel of yet another rebuild. It makes me sad to say it, but this may be his last season in Tampa.Snake wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:01 pm Cleaning house is the only answer. Can you imagine this without Mike Evans? They had the fucking gall not to pay him whatever he wanted.
Things are gonna get worse before they get better. I’m praying we’re not gonna have Toilet at HC or the alchy as GM in a few months.
Too bad he's going to burn one of his final seasons as a player and last season as a Buc playing for a sub .500 team.
Just another filler game of a filler season.

So you're upset we're not winning?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:46 pmThey’ve lost 6 of their last 7 games. This isn’t just one loss.
To be clear, we came into the season with $75M in dead cap and everyone EXPECTING us to be absolutely awful....
and instead, we have been in it to the end of practically every game, often with the ball in our hands with the chance to go down and win it...
And people are mad... mad that we're far exceeding expectations, but just not exceeding them by enough. Sure.

There was absolutely zero meat on the bone with Baker Mayfield. Signing Baker Mayfield was a fucking joke. Not playing Kyle Trask at this point is a fucking joke. If you’re in higher leadership, you make Jason tell you why Kyle Trask is not getting playing time because we know Baker Mayfield is average at the absolute best. Trask has been developed for multiple years. It makes no fucking sense.
We aren’t playing for 2023. Everyone in a position of power is fighting for their life when it literally doesn’t matter what happens in 2023. And if ownership doesn’t understand that, we have way bigger problems. And you better pray that somebody like Tom Brady miraculously shows up again. Because you’re fighting something that’s rotting for the head down at that point.

No chance he would go to Tampa. Unless the owners would give him full control, like he had in New England. which he’s not done particularly well in recent years due to his subpar drafting.CantonJester wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 5:09 pmWhat if it's Bill BelichickSnake wrote: ↑Sun Nov 26, 2023 4:20 pm

He’s bound for the Chargers. Make the defense elite. Brilliant young quarterback on the squad already.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Mike Tomlin's number of seasons with a losing record in 17 years as a NFL head coach: Zero, which is 0%.
Todd Bowles number of seasons with a losing record in 6 years as a NFL head coach: Five, which is 86%.
You're mental.

100% right. And I would love a Mike Tomlin tenure. I would appreciate it.
But according to this fanbase it's a series of "the worst possible season outcome". Heads would be exploding.

No one did. If anything he was compared to BB.
Either way, both would be run out of Tampa.

Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
The Steelers are 7-4 and winning ugly. I love winning ugly. If the Bucs were 7-4 and winning ugly I’d be praising Todd Bowles up and down. We’re 4-7. Our first round pick and what money we did have went to his defense. He’s a defensive head coach and his defense is terrible. That’s unacceptable.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Congrats to Mr White and his 2nd career 100 yard game.
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Our first round pick went to the BPA (2nd imo but w/e) as it should. And it's looking quite good. What money we did have went where it had to go, including RG. A ton of it is already tied up at WR too. We knew the debts we were paying for this year, how are people still mad that we didn't do more with our money?
Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
There's No Reason Mike Evans Shouldn't be given an Extension
There's No Reason We Didn't Call a Timeout after the White Run to get a better play than a rushed play resulting in a sack fumble
There's No Reason Bowles doesn't challenge the incomplete pass to Evans when he's clamoring for a challenge
There's No Reason for Bowles to be the Head Coach any longer
There's No Reason to keep starting Baker Mayfield when you need to see what you have in Trask
There's No Reason to keep starting Devin White as a LB when he should be a DL or not even in the League

Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
Todd Bowles has no interest in the future of this franchise. He thought he could get a decent enough vet QB and win ugly. He’s a defensive head coach with a terrible defense that has lost 6 of 7 games.
Bowles already chose to move away from giving a young QB that’s on the roster (Trask) a chance.
If by some miracle he’s the head coach next season it’ll probably be Baker again on a franchise tag. Likely without Mike Evans.
Until there’s a reset at the top we’re going nowhere regardless of how much money we do or don’t have. That’s why people are “mad.”
Because there’s no plan. No prospects.
At this point the continued losing gets us where we want to go. Away from Todd Bowles. Ironically, nobody who wants that should be mad.
Tough spot to be in as a fan.

Re: Rapid Reactions: Bucs Lose to the Colts 27-20
The plan seems really clear an obvious. We spent what we spent on the players and positions we did to win a SB. We did it. We're paying it. This year was SUPPOSE to be a cheap vet and Trask.... if one rose up, awesome, if not there's another offseason with other options. And we'll have money then. Until then, develop your players and learn your schemes.
OL is playing better. White finally with a 100 yard game. Evans is super locked into his role, that's great. Godwin still needs to get into a groove.
What the hell is not going according to plan to you?

I hate to be the bearer of good news..
We’re a game out of first with games against all the teams we need to play.
The toughest test being the Jaguars. Just simply saying.

I do not subscribe to "anyone but" dogma. If you can show you an actual genuine alternative I'll weigh it, but I think there are A LOT of options out there that would make the next few years a whole lot worse and a more than not likely chance we land one. Meanwhile, I don't let one play from a game 2 years ago overrule my judgment of what I see in front of us now.
What I see is a coach who has put together good defenses repeatedly, particularly one that picks off great QBs in big moments. The best at finding and developing DBs. One that actually has the very kind of blitz packages you want in today's NFL. But most importantly, I see a guy who still very much has the locker room. A guy who still has his players fully bought in, who come out saying "yeah, we saw the film, we saw the mistakes. The plays are there to be made, we just got to make them, it'll come". That Palmer drop changes things. That Winfield drop changes things. Those "almost" sacks change things. Those missed Baker reads change things. They know that and still believe THEY can be the change. That when they do make those plays they control their own destiny.
That kind of locker room culture is worth gold. On the other side, I appreciate his belief and handling of Canales and the offense. He isn't making any rash overrules because things aren't going well right away. He is letting Canales do this thing, and he's another coach who has players (and this fan) bought into what he's selling. We just got to get there. And yes, that maybe with be Nix or Penix or someone else.
