Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
@Navybuc was clearly making a point that he felt the Niners & Eagles were the 2 best teams in football. Not that they'd actually play each other in the SB. Crazy that had to be explained.

With the way he has played I’d re-sign him to an extension.

Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
Yeah I'm down for keeping Baker around since we're likely to miss out on the QB prospects in the draft.

But you said Trask would start in 2024.....Which is it?Grahamburn wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2023 12:49 pmWith the way he has played I’d re-sign him to an extension.

Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
It’s a deep class. You can get a good qb between 10-17, which is prolly in the area of where we’ll pick. You can also trade to move up in Rd 2, where a guy like McCarthy may be available.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2023 12:52 pm Yeah I'm down for keeping Baker around since we're likely to miss out on the QB prospects in the draft.
I still don’t see Baker as a starter who can get you to the next level. Just misses too many easy throws. He’s a good backup, and he can go on some hot streaks where he looks great, but he’s not taking you to the Super Bowl. If that’s our goal, then we need to look in the Draft. If we’re happy with finishing with 7-10 wins and finishing in the middle of the pack, then sure, re-sign the guy as a starter.
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
@Navybuc IMO The Game has high stakes on JJ McCarthy's draft status. He is one of the top five quarterbacks, much like how Carson Palmer performed against Notre Dame during his time at USC
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
I just want to see a game where McCarthy has to beat a good defense with his arm. Not TCU…but rather Georgia or this year’s version of Ohio State or Bama. Show me you can air it out against the elite defenses. You’re right…tomorrow will tell a lot.

AFC is more wide open than ever. Chiefs, Dolphins, Ravens. Maybe jags and Bills
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
Miami is to 2023 as Minnesota was to 2022. Come playoff time, Miami will have a realllly tough go if it
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
That seems more accurate in explaining the 2023 Lions, if it explains any team at all.
The 2023 Dolphins are by far the best and most explosive offense. The rank #1 or #2 in scoring, total offense, passing offense, rushing offense. The Vikings were nearly this good on offense.
Defensively is where the biggest difference lies. It's not even as if the Dolphins defense is all that great, although since Jalen Ramsey was added they've been much better. But the Vikings had the 2nd worst defense last season. That's why most of their games were so close. They couldn't put teams away. The Dolphins have been much better closing games and not relying on dumb luck.
I think they can make some noise and won't be embarrassed in the wild card round the way the Vikings were.

Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
Also worth mentioning the Dolphins are currently the #1 seed and have 4 of their last 6 games at home. Since the start of 2022 the Dolphins have lost 1 game at home when Tua starts, Christmas Day last season. Beating them at home is no easy thing.

Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
Mismi has three upcoming games that are winnable before the Cowboys game anyway.
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
Compare that to the Bills, who next 3 games are at Eagles, at Chiefs, vs Cowboys. The Dolphins realistically could have the division wrapped up by Christmas.

Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
Equal facts:
1. We have no clue really what Trask could bring to the party
2. We have no idea how much better Baker could play if he had a better offensive
3. He has done remarkably well with what he has to work with

Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
I really hope the Bucs select a quarterback like Jalen Hurts in the 2024 draft. Incredible player
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
There are a lot of interesting talents in the draft. Each with their own red flags. Not sure who will make it to us but I'm very interested to see.
Re: Week 12 Discussion: Thanksgiving Slate
He did it again .If Jayden Daniels has a similar throwing ability to Jalen Hurts, then I have no complaints.
