NCAA football 2023
Re: NCAA football 2023
Not sure about that safety call. Thought the WR was close enough.

Re: NCAA football 2023
I'm not feeling confident in the Michigan's ability to beat Ohio State this year. We will see though.

Re: NCAA football 2023
If Bama doesn’t beat Georgia…NOBODY is beating them. Kirby Smart with an offense…now that’s a scary team.
Re: NCAA football 2023
@cheb, what do you reckon about having Jesse Minter as the interim coach? Do you think it makes any difference?
You know, with Harbaught-McCarthy, he didn't throw a single interception. But without Harbaugh, he ended up with four interceptions.

Re: NCAA football 2023
I think the differences in performance between Minter and Harbaugh are obvious, not just in McCarthy's picks but in the general way that the offense functions.
Speaking as a guy who can and would call inside runs on every offensive snap if the football gods would allow it, you can't do that against good competition and win games. The best way to help out a dominant run game is to make safeties and linebackers hesitate and think so they can't fast-flow to their run responsibilities. Even if you're a double wing veer team, you still have to hit the defense with play action and misdirection. Taking the air outta the ball and crashing into the middle of the defense every play is just as dumb as going shotgun fury and bombing it 30+ yards every snap.

Re: NCAA football 2023
Jordan Travis with a gruesome injury…yikes
Re: NCAA football 2023
Damn FSU season just took a u-turn. Travis injury doesn’t look good.
Re: NCAA football 2023
I’m laughing because of all the hate piling on them. Meanwhile, they just keep winning anyway.

Don't tread on me
Re: NCAA football 2023
What happened to Jordan Travis? I missed part of the 1st quarter.
Re: NCAA football 2023
Still need to win the big one, though. We’ve been here before with Michigan. It’s put up or shut up time. No more getting into the playoffs and then watching their defense getting trounced in the first round.
Just please beat OSU. I hate Ryan Day with a passion.
Re: NCAA football 2023
Screw Caleb. Give me Michael Penix with the No. 1 pick.
Re: NCAA football 2023
Maye looked like ass today, too. Maybe 70% ass. He ran better than he threw.
Re: NCAA football 2023
I watched LSU last night. The other team hung with them for a quarter or so, but LSU just kept scoring TDs every possession. Towards the end, though, it was kinda sad, the SEC officials were a little too LSU-friendly and so were the announcers. Since the only thing LSU has left this season is a Heisman chase, they let their very good QB pad his stats much more than they should have. Late in the game when the score was out of reach, one Georgia State WR made a great catch, first called a catch then an incompletion, because the LSU player hit him out of bounds and knocked the ball loose. It should have been Georgia State on about the 20 to play for some pride but instead they were on their own 20, went for it on 4th down, and never scored.
I was ashamed at the butt-kissing hype of facing a team that was trying their best to win, and running up the score on them like they were Sister Mary's flag football team just so Coach Kelly can show potential QB recruits that he'll run up the score on their behalfs too if they come to LSU and get a Heisman shot. Given the historical record of LSU recruiting QBs, I understand but with the portal QBs are as likely to transfer out as in, so I'm not celebrating with the rest of the fanbase. LSU lost their season from the get-go and they lost to Bama, everything else is just running out the clock on the season.

Re: NCAA football 2023
Hopefully Mertz is okay for next week because I think the Gators have a shot to beat FSU. The Seminoles could spoil someone's party, most likely Texas, because I think Big 10 champ, SEC champ, and Pac 10 champs are in. If FSU loses, then Texas could get in.
Given the lack of upsets this year from top 5, it prolly means there's no room for error for OSU, Michigan, or Georgia. Can't afford a loss. Not sure they'd put a 1-loss non-Big 10 champ or 1-loss non-SEC champ in over a Big 12 champ. But it's possible.

Re: NCAA football 2023
Not sure Washington is going to beat Oregon. Then you get into a question of Oregon, Texas, or Mich-OSU loser. If FSU wins out and Oregon wins, then it becomes Big 12 champ or PAC 10 champ…in which case I’d go PAC 10 given the Ducks tougher schedule.
If Bama wins, everything could get crazy.

Blake Corum uses his NIL money to hand out hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys. He is such a great guy at this young age. Great player.

Saw that, ankles aren't supposed to turn that way
I guess we get to see if the backup can keep playing well enough. Offense seemed to be ok once he got settled in

Re: NCAA football 2023
so many weapons.. just get the ball to them. The back up should be fine in terms of being ready.. he led a comeback against Louisville a few years ago and also won at ClemsonSelmon Rules wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 9:21 amSaw that, ankles aren't supposed to turn that way

Re: NCAA football 2023
I like Norvell. Guy is a hell of a coach. Gators missed out hiring him a few years back. FSU a solid team who has come a long way. But with or without Travis, I just don’t see them in the same class as a Georgia or even a Michigan or Oregon. They will be in a year or two, but don’t think they’re there yet.Noles1724 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 10:24 amso many weapons.. just get the ball to them.
