IABL Predict The Score: Week 10, Tennessee at Tampa Bay, 12 November 2023
IABL Predict The Score: Week 10, Tennessee at Tampa Bay, 12 November 2023
Hello again.
Welcome back to Predict The Score, the contest where there is a little silver lining in every disheartening loss, when you didn't pick the "winning" score!
Last week in a shootout, we scored 37 points and lost the game. 37 points! Needless to say no one predicted that, so from dead on 0 points off in week 1, we have a weekly winner in Bahamian:bucfan who at 31 points off was closer than anyone else except for mdb1958, whose 45-0 might have forced a 31-points off and actually looking at the crazy tiebreaker. But you know, 45-0 Bucs was, er, the wrong way? Oh and the math is calculated separately for each team and those differences added up so it was 47 points off, not 31. But hey I hadn't gotten to use "The Rules" all season long, halfway into the season is just fine with me. So with an actual score of 39-37, 25-20 works. Congratulations??, Bahamian:bucfan, you are the biggest loser, I mean winner, this season!!!
The season standings are as follows:
Week 1: Jonny, Predicted Bucs 20 Vikings 17, 0 points off. Whoa!
Week 2: Doooshnzl, Predicted Bucs 28, Bears 17, 1 point off, winning the tiebreaker over Kaimaru and Bootz (so close!)
Week 3: acmillis, Predicted Bucs 14 Eagles 26, 4 points off.
Week 4: Buc2, Predicted Bucs 23, Saints 13, 7 points off.
Week 6: Four Verticals, Predicted Bucs 10, Lions 24, 8 points off.
Week 7: No winner, as no one predicted a Bucs loss.
Week 8: Nobody, Predicted Bucs 16, Bills 24, 2 points off.
Week 9: Bahamian:bucfan, Predicted Bucs 20, Bills 25, 31 points off.
Now, the Titans are coming to Tampa right before we fly out to be gold rushed by the 49ers. Of course even living in the outskirts of Pittsburgh I didn't get to see the Steelers pull this one out last Thursday (thanks so much Amazon or Nickelodeon or whoever the hell you are to keep decent football off of real fans' local TV stations), Tennessee had their chances.
This week's first tiebreaker, as per the suggestion by Cheb, is solo tackles by last week's leading tackler by the Bucs, Lavonte David, and the second tiebreaker is solo tackles by Tennessee's leading tackler against Pittsburgh, Azeez Al-Shaair, as assessed by ESPN's box scores. https://www.espn.com/nfl/boxscore/_/gameId/401547512
https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/39 ... -al-shaair
Oh and if either is hurt or disqualified pregame we go the the next defender on the last box score for each team, so I don't worry about injuries.
----
I'll begin.
This is it, the win our Bucs don't need to keep them out of the running for a top QB. They don't need to look ahead because they know they're gonna be curb stomped in Santa Clara the week after this home game. In contrast, the Titans will be hosting the Karolina Kitties the following week so they just might?
So boldly I go predicting Bucball even though the Bucs defense is more likely to produce a cricket score than hear the sound of crickets from the Titan's scoring next week.
Tampa Bay 10
Tennessee 8
LVD, 9 solo tackles. Azeez Al-Shaair, 7 solo tackles.
Your turn.

Ya I was thinking something along the lines of, Todd Bowles finds out a comet is gonna hit Ray Jay during the game, and have the same look. Todd Bowles watches Air Bud II catch a touchdown pass for the other team, same look. That sort of thing.

I don't expect the Bucs to go for 60 minutes wanting a win.
42 to 0 Bucs.
42 to 0 Bucs.

Tennessee 32
BUCS 24
David 9 tackles
Other guy 7 tackles
* Todd Bowles is going to stand on the sideline all game with his hands folded, that emotionless stare on his face, while the rookie QB TORCHES our defense; and he still will not make any adjustments.
Historically, this team has played terrible against rookie and backup qb's. Todd Bowles is particularly terrible in this area. I see nothing changing for this game.

We should look at DB John Smith from Holy Cross.
Re: IABL Predict The Score: Week 10, Tennessee at Tampa Bay, 12 November 2023
Congratulations to TonyLip. 19-13 is net 8 points off, closest this week. Oh, yeah... In real life, LVD had 5 tackles, so you would have won the tiebreaker, too. Good job this week.
I see you don't have a sig. No one has asked for one this season, meaning my poor artistic skills are not yet subject to ridicule. If you want one, PM me.
