Well they took a running back instead of a quarterback with that pick so

That definitely hurts. May as well cede the division to the Jags.
Don't tread on me

I think Houston might have something to say about that.

Damn, for as big and physical as AR5 is, he seems to get hurt quite often. Didn't he basically get hurt in every game and missed snaps?
Re: ***Official 2023 NFL Season Thread***
Yea that pretty much sums it up. He's done a very poor job of protecting himself. He also missed time with a concussion.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2023 12:27 pm Damn, for as big and physical as AR5 is, he seems to get hurt quite often. That division appears to be set up for good success in the future with Lawrence, Stroud, maybe Richardson and Levis.

Per PFF:
Baker at almost 9%, Fields/Watson/Purdy above 10% and Cousins and Mahomes tied at 2.8% are all interesting.
edit: Non-pressured throws. They cut off Bryce Young who is only at 1%, leading the NFL.

Baker’s have just been so glaringly game altering woefully bad the last two weeks.

Ask him where Brady was last year.

That's a heffffty price for half a season for a dude who isn't that great of a player.
Re: ***Official 2023 NFL Season Thread***
Interesting
The Tennessee #Titans have been asking for a second-round pick in return for All-Pro running back Derrick Henry, per multiple league sources.
No team has come near that offer, and no one will. The sense in league circles is that Tennessee may be willing to settle for a lightly conditioned 4 that would turn into a 3.

Less than 24 hours for teams to make moves. I think the Bucs will stand pat with what they have believing that the present squad can make the playoffs.
Re: ***Official 2023 NFL Season Thread***
Maybe Henry can make a run with the Levis Titans?
I'm still hoping we can swap some late picks for Penny or something.

So Josh McDaniels just got fired at 1 AM.
Re: ***Official 2023 NFL Season Thread***
I think he's officially surpassed Adam Gase as the most overrated HC ever. Twice now he doesn't even last a full 2 seasons as a HC.

And is replaced by linebacker coach and former player Antonio Pierce.
Not many may have followed his career since he retired from the NFL, but he was a high school coach for a time out here in California so I have. He took over a powerhouse team at Long Beach Poly and kinda-sorta ran them into the ground before running away to Arizona State.
It'll be interesting to see what he does with the Raiders, because from personal experience I can say he didn't impress me much.

I'm curious as to how toxic Josh McDaniels is. 2 teams now have fired him as their HC after less than 2 seasons. He seems to have very tense relationships with players. I knew he wasn't trust worthy after the stuff with Jay Cutler. Him leaving the Colts high and dry reinforced that. Now Vegas says "see ya" 1.5 years into a 6 year deal.
He's the new age Urban Meyer.

I think he’s comparable to Adam Gase, a complete hack outside of being OC for an all time great QB.Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 1:32 am I'm curious as to how toxic Josh McDaniels is. 2 teams now have fired him as their HC after less than 2 seasons. McDaniels just like like a miserable person to be around. Couldn't imagine how much of a dick he was to play for. I know my wife is going to be happy when she finds out he's gone.
I'm sure maybe one or two slipped my mind, but after 20+ years of Patriots HC hires, has a single one actually worked out? And with Bill looking more foolish every year that goes by, made the "Patriot Way" has always been "just have Tom Brady as your QB".

I am sure the Buccaneers will hire him. They will think they can turn him around just like they have Baker Mayfield.Bootz wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 1:32 am I'm curious as to how toxic Josh McDaniels is. 2 teams now have fired him as their HC after less than 2 seasons. They fired McDaniels? Lmaoooooooo
Re: ***Official 2023 NFL Season Thread***
Antonio Pierce. I followed very closely at Arizona State. Kind of a unicorn recruiter. Very charismatic. But not the best Xs & Os guy. Marvin Lewis was brought in to assist him with coordinating the defense.Cheb wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 1:25 amAnd is replaced by linebacker coach and former player Antonio Pierce.

Man, Brady's offensive coordinators have always turned out to be crap without him at almost every level. Weis, Leftwich, McDaniels, O'Brien...

If the rumors are true, McDaniels was fired via fortune cookie.
Re: ***Official 2023 NFL Season Thread***
He also was 3rd in scoring and yards with Jameis. Higher than any finished Dirk Koetter before him ever had with Jameis or anyone else in his 14 years calling offenses. Probably true for a lot of OCs. But we don't talk about that. We enjoy the drag.
