Some perspective on this season: The team is getting out of cap hell in one season and at this point is the third seed wildcard team. OTC has us with about $60 million in cap space with 40 players under contract in 2024. Total dead money on the cap: $203,011 in 2024 vs $77,144,954 for this season.
To put those numbers in perspective, New Orleans is $71 million over the cap with 42 players under contract.
This is why I keep telling people not to panic. We all knew we weren't winning the Superbowl this year. But we can re-sign some big names, draft and even address other needs in free agency. We might win like 7 games this year. Big freaking deal. We might very well win like 11 or 12 next year with a good draft and wise investment in our cap space. And yes, that is WITH Baker -who would be happy just to get a deal at this point.
Like our single biggest problem was if Wirfs could play LT. Well he can. And we're gonna have AWJ, Evans and Godwin next year too. Calm down.
All that cap space is going to disappear quickly though.
AWJ and Evans are free agents. Wirfs needs an extension. The only QB under contract is Trask. Devin White and LaVonte are both in the last year of their deals.
We can win 12 games just by signing the guys already on this clearly average team? How?

And you're right. I'm just more or less saying I think we can do it. We've had fantastic cap management for a very long time and a lot of selfless players. We have a lot of valid concerns and questions about the coaching culture but our player culture? It's second to none. I think we will find the money we need to add to our team. Or maybe I'm just taking too much of Doc's hopeium

In the Jets and Giants game, neither team has thus far converted a third down. 0/17 with a minute left to do in the first half.
Some great early games today. Will Levis needs to be the starter going forward for the Titans, he was amazing today. Bryce Young finally gets a win. Cheetah reaches 1k yards in just 8 games. Jalen Ramsey makes a difference for the Dolphins D. Eagles/Commanders was a battle for all 4 quarters but the Eagles showed a ton of moxxy on the road.
After watching Will Levis, I sort of am reminded of the good year of Freeman. Freeman turned into a bust, but it was fun to see a physical specimen play QB for us and look pretty good for at least one year.
Get the current miniature mofo we have out of town. I'm done with him.

Looks like a torn achilles tendon for Kirk Cousins.
Damn that sucks.
Just saw the video of the injury. Non-contact. The Packers play on grass. Wonder if we'll hear anything from the critics of artificial surfaces.
Always find it funny.. like billionaires wouldn't protect their billion dollar investment because grass would be more expensive. The turf in place is the best possible and is light years away from Jim Kelly Buffalo turf.
That said, N.O., ATL, Detroit, Minnesota.. places like that, location/ region.. it is what it is.. but if GB can have a grass field, Philly probably should too.
My favorite stadium design is AZ.. whole fields rolls outside for sun/ water.. believe another field or two has something similar

With Atlanta losing today and the Saints winning today, the Bucs are solidly in 3rd place in the NFCS, but only by a half game.
That means if we win next week and Atl and the Saints lose - we are solidly in 1st place.

Go figure. Will Levis has played amazingly today. Might save Mike Vrabel's job for him.
Will Levis should have had the chance to start week 1.
This is such a fan take. The idea that he totally would've been a 4 TD machine out the gate. Or that this is something more than one game. Nothing like rookie hype. Funny thing is even if you live up to and and even go on to win MVP in your second year, you'll be surprised how quickly people will cool on you. But that's in the future. Right now it's time for hot hype. Can't wait for Titans to revive their playoff talks. Which is now magically a good thing again? Or should they still be tanking?
