Week 8 Discussion
Re: Week 8 Discussion
No there was a practice yesterday. We play Thursday. Both teams just did a walk through.

Re: Week 8 Discussion
This is a sad week for the Buccaneers. Dropping to 3-4 and getting demolished on national television will certainly help Bowles realize he is in over his head.

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Anything can happen, just look at the result of last nights game where the Vikings defeated the 49's.
Re: Week 8 Discussion
Or the Zach Wilson led Jets beating the Eagles. Anything can happen. The Bills aren't exactly a powerhouse and 3-4 isn't a death sentence.GreatTimes wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 8:43 amAnything can happen, just look at the result of last nights game where the Vikings defeated the 49's.

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Yep. We likely won’t win this week, but you never know. Nobody expected the Vikings to win last night.
3-4 after starting 3-1 is disappointing, but we’ve got the Texans and Titans lined up after that. Could easily be 5-4 before heading to SF

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Completely random: I saw this guy on a show this morning that I thought looked like LeSean McCoy but didn't think it was him because dude was plump. Watched a little longer, come to find out it is him. When did he go all Shaun King and gain all of this weight??

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Signing Feiler, drafting Mauch and keeping Hainsey at center were brilliant moves by the Bucs, NOT!

The pass blocking has been stellar. The offensive line is not the problem with the offense.Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 5:34 pmWhat should they have done?GreatTimes wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 5:27 pm Signing Feiler, drafting Mauch and keeping Hainsey at center were brilliant moves by the Bucs, NOT!

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Yup, bye bye Staley
Los Angeles Chargers HC Brandon Staley might have lost the locker room, as he and his defensive backs are not on the same page.
Staley's comments are constantly denied or changed by the Chargers' players as well.

A one sided offensive line is stellar? Is the growth making itself happen? Seems like how we start after the 2nd level of blocking is to just left your man just blow right by you, for a five yard loss.
I'm curious of just how often are we moving the defense where we want them, kinda seems like hardly never.
Re: Week 8 Discussion
You're not allowed to do that. Teams that are real contenders can lose winnable games, but if you're a pretender or up and comer than you need to win all your winnable games or reset until you do. Dem the rules.GreatTimes wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 8:43 amAnything can happen, just look at the result of last nights game where the Vikings defeated the 49's.

Chase , full participation?
Ok
If he can’t get into open space, it is the GD Oline.

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Lot of the problems with the run game are tied to us being too predictable when we do it. Almost always between the tackles from the same personnel set.
Lot of creativity in the route running for the passing game, almost none in the run game.

Would be cool if Godwin caught like three touchdown passes.

Re: Week 8 Discussion
Some perspective on this season: The team is getting out of cap hell in one season and at this point is the third seed wildcard team. OTC has us with about $60 million in cap space with 40 players under contract in 2024. Total dead money on the cap: $203,011 in 2024 vs $77,144,954 for this season.
To put those numbers in perspective, New Orleans is $71 million over the cap with 42 players under contract.

A 3-1 start and beating the Saints heading into the bye with two winnable games coming out of it had all our chests out a bit. Humble pie.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 5:59 pm Some perspective on this season: The team is getting out of cap hell in one season and at this point is the third seed wildcard team. Re: Week 8 Discussion
True, the run game is an issue but if Baker was able to connect on two or three more passes he misfired on the past two games good chance we're 4-2 or 5-1 at this point. Shift the offense to a short passing game in lieu of the running game, give the defense a bit more rest and at least mix up the formations we run from are things that'd help correct the trajectory of the last two games as well.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 6:29 pm A 3-1 start and beating the Saints heading into the bye with two winnable games coming out of it had all our chests out a bit. Re: Week 8 Discussion
I read that our OLine is just trying to stop the rushers on running plays and not driving off the line. If that is because we are trying to disguise the play, well, I think that might be at least part of the problemmdb1958 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 6:12 pmGrahamburn wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 5:39 pm

Re: Week 8 Discussion
This is why I keep telling people not to panic. We all knew we weren't winning the Superbowl this year. But we can re-sign some big names, draft and even address other needs in free agency. We might win like 7 games this year. Big freaking deal. We might very well win like 11 or 12 next year with a good draft and wise investment in our cap space. And yes, that is WITH Baker -who would be happy just to get a deal at this point.Pirate Life wrote: ↑Wed Oct 25, 2023 5:59 pm Some perspective on this season: The team is getting out of cap hell in one season and at this point is the third seed wildcard team. Like our single biggest problem was if Wirfs could play LT. Well he can. And we're gonna have AWJ, Evans and Godwin next year too. Calm down.

Big names arent lasting as much anymore.
