If he never should have been hired in the first place after an established track record of failure, yes.

Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
Is there an office pool on what week the first NFL HC will be fired? My guess would be the 7th week.
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
6th week
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
MJWs favorite time of the year. She gets to pretend she's the smartest person in the room and throw all of the shit at the wall she wants to, only for it to never come to fruition and be proven wrong yet again. Nothing to lose in May.

LOL, how does this relate to the post you're quoting?

MJW using teen slang (mid) is the off-season I’m here for!!
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
Imagine thinking someone should be forever done as a HC because three bad years with the Jets. Like, that's it! If you couldn't make it with Sam Darnold, you're never gonna make it! Move on!

Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
That’s not untrue, but Todd made some maddening decisions last year, and the lack of adjustments (especially on offense) throughout the season were frustrating to say the least.
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
I actually think Darnold has talent…he’s just been poorly coached and worked in failed systems. Don’t be surprised to see him excel in a good system in SF. Early indications are he has looked really good in voluntary camps and could be day 1 starter.

...and the winless Lions went undefeated in the preseason. I'll believe the 4ish years of starts rather than some practices.

Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
Arthur Smith is intriguing to me if the Falcons and Bucs happen to fire both coaches at the same time (say 2 years from now)
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
It’s the 49ers. They turned Brock Purdy into a legitimate starter. I compare it to anybody that went to the Patriots in their dynasty prime…they could suck everywhere else, but go to NE, and they’re a pro bowler. So if Darnold has any bit of talent in him…which I think he does…the 49ers will find it and use it. And he will have all day to sit back there and throw behind that OL.
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
Now do Trey Lance
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
Never healthy??
He's been in the league for 2 years, spent 1 year on the bench the other he got hurt week 2.
That qualifies as "never" healthy??

The dude missed basically an entire season.
He was also hurt his rookie year, a reason why he barely played:

So yeah, he’s never healthy.
Re: NFL '22 - Coachs Hot Seat
Hurt while being on the bench is moot. Especially when youre still active for games. He started 2 games in place of Jimmy G in 2021 when Jimmy got hurt. But Lance was the backup in 2021. That's the primary reason he, the backup QB, played so little.Navybuc wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 3:02 pmThe dude missed basically an entire season.

So yeah, he’s pretty much never been healthy.
Even still your assessment that someone who isn't even eligible for a contract extension is "never healthy" is comical at best.

What’s comical is you’re making a big deal out of this. The guy’s been hurt. He missed an entire season. End of story. Whether he’s a bust or not, I don’t know. This is prolly his last preseason to prove himself with SF or he’s gone. As I said before, if you can’t thrive in SF, you’re prolly not gonna make it anywhere.Bootz wrote: ↑Mon May 22, 2023 3:11 pmHurt while being on the bench is moot.
