How Many Games Does This Team Of UFAs Win?

Post by MJW »

Here's a team made up of guys unsigned as of 5/11. How many games could they win?

(I'm pretending they're all healthy, to at least make it interesting)

QB: Carson Wentz/Teddy Bridgewater
RB: Ezekiel Elliott/Kareem Hunt
WR: Kenny Golladay/Jarvis Landry/TY Hilton
TE: Cameron Brate/Marcedes Lewis
OL: Taylor Lewan - Trai Turner - Pat Elflein - Dalton Risner - Ja'Wuan James

DL: Frank Clark - Matt Ioannidis - Shelby Harris - Leonard Floyd
LB: Myles Jack - Deion Jones - Rashaan Evans
CB: Marcus Peters/Shaq Griffin/William Jackson
S: John Johnson/Adrian Amos/LaMarcus Joyner
K: Zane Gonzalez
P: Matt Haack

I honestly think this team, if well-coached and healthy, could win 5-7 games.

Poorly coached? 4-6

That secondary is getting burnt to a crisp. That Oline is getting beat like a drum and would get no help from the TE position. And QB?

This is what you call a "looks good on paper" type of roster. In reality if they won 5 games I'd call it overachieving.

The “all retirement team” wins the top overall pick.

I feel like we could use a couple of those
O-linemen.

Unrestricted - could be on their way out.
Undrafted - could mean their looking for a chance.

I love how her UFA team wins 5-7 games but the Bucs are destined for 2-15.

It's the NFL though so I don't think the UFA would go winless.

I think everything currently is a wash other than our WRs and our secondary. Individually we have better players in other groups but we don't know how the lines will shake out or if DW will take plays off again and also LVD is another year older. So if this is a 4 win team, we should at least be a 6 win team. We could be (if the lines gel) a 10 win team easily even with mediocre QB play because we would be able to run the ball and get after these young QBs we will be facing this year.

Your only positions to fear are RB and WR. Your secondary is undersized and will get roasted alive. Your O-Line is a bunch of underachievers except for Lewan and he can't stay healthy. They will get ripped through like tin foil. You've got one TE who is strictly a receiver and another who is only a shadow of his former self. Your front seven is loaded with draft busts. And as for QB, I'm not gonna waste anyone's time.

Mecedes Lewis had over 450 snaps last year for GB. Are their blocking TEs really that bad? I wouldn't even be afraid of Kenny Golladay. Injuries derailed his so so career. TY Hilton has been a jag for the Colts since Luck hung up his cleats. Landry would be their #1. Zeke lost a step, maybe two. Both backs have injury concerns. It's more as a MASH unit than a football team for the skill positions (QB included).

The major issue is in the disclaimer: **I'M PRETENDING THEIR ALL HEALTHY**

Problem with that is health is why most of them are at home right now. Injuries in this game impact your effectiveness and overall value to NFL teams.
