DT: Brandon Dorlus, Oregon

Dorlus rotated to a 3-4 defensive end in 2022 and he continued to wreak havoc on the PAC 12. Dorlus can rotate between defensive tackle and defensive end which will be massive for his draft stock. Dorlus has recorded a career 78 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, seven sacks and four breakups in only 37 games over 957 pass rush snaps. He’s also added 109 pressures including back to back seasons of 40+ and a career 49 stops in the run game. Dorlus is versatile, strong, and has a lethal first step. He’s sitting as a fifth round prospect and in a strong defensive tackle class, he’ll move up quickly which says something else. The biggest enticement for NFL teams is going to be his versatility as Dorlus has 540 snaps at defensive end, 395 at the 3-Tech and 620 as a traditional nose tackle. Keep an eye on Dorlus at the Senior Bowl and Combine.

Team Fits: Giants, Buccaneers, Falcons

I've gone through all the relevant quarterbacks. Here's how I have them:

Manning/Brady/ETC Traits:
Nobody. Enough said.

Russell Wilson Traits:
Bryce Young. He's very lucky to be playing in an era where hitting the quarterback is illegal and size is no longer a major issue. He'll be a guy who can elevate a team.

Dak Prescott Traits:
C.J. Stroud. I don't quite see Young's ability to make jazz, but I like everything else about him. I think he'll need a good situation more than Young will.

Jay Cutler Traits:
Will Levis. But people forget how good Cutler was at times. Destined to be overdrafted based on arm talent and frustrate his team with a combination of great plays and dumb ones.

Josh Freeman Traits:
Anthony Richardson. But somebody was dumb enough to take Freeman in Round One too, as I recall.

Danny Wuerffel Traits:
Hendon Hooker. All of his highlights are actually wide receiver/playcallilng highlights. Almost zero NFL type tight window throws. And a whole lot of underthrowing receivers who've toasted their guy.

Colt McCoy Traits:
Jaren Hall. He's got that 6'1 210 "9 teams in 15 years" kinda feel to him.

Andre Ware Traits:
Clayton Tune, Cameron Ward. Big NCAA numbers, huge CFL potential.

Braxton Miller Traits:
Malik Cunningham, Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Better sharpen those routes, guys.

Mike Glennon Memorial Traits:
Tanner McKee. Enormous Baby Giraffe Factors.

Jake Delhomme Traits:
Jake Haener. He's got a decent chance to carve out a career.

Jared Zabransky Traits:
Stetson Bennett, Max Duggan. Destined to open up car dealerships in their college towns.

Final Thoughts: If I can take Young or Stroud, I do. If I can take Levis or Richardson, I sell the pick. And I probably don't bother using a later pick on the position. It's a better class than last year, but not by as much as four first rounders would suggest.
"So let's get to the point
Let's roll another joint
And let's head on down the road
There's somewhere I got to go..."

Are there reachable ILB's in this draft that would set our defense on fire. A vast amount of LB and S experience is dominating the NFL right now but we have ignored it.

Our S position lacks smash/cover and stay healthy.

The teams that have less cap space than us right now have more players under contract than we do. we are going to need to convince roughly 21 players to sign up with us to hit 90 for camp. We need to make the higher valued prospects realize they could catch on here.

Michael Penix looks like a stud in the early goings against Michigan State.
