That’s a lot of money for Jimmy G, but it was a must for Vegas. He’s the last starting qb available, and Vegas doesn’t draft high enough to get one of the top qbs. When demand is high, the price goes up.
It’s a bit of a gamble given his injury history, but he’s solid. They need to give him a good OL there, though. They have great weapons at the skill positions to help him, but Vegas’ OL was not good last year.

Echoing Schefter and Rapoport, no deal has been made, another source said. The Packers wanted a first-round pick, and more, for Rodgers. The finances and the Jets’ need of that first-round pick make the compensation – so long as a trade is consummated – a bit tricky.

He know something that we don’t?

4th highest paid?
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Jesus, Bears are tearing it up already. Made a great deal over the weekend, got a young starting stud at WR and now are picking up young FAs, not over the hill guys like we usually go after.

We should know better than to think winning free agency means a damn thing when the season rolls around. We were the darlings of free agency for years.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Yup but it is good for adding depth. You’ll never usually find a superstar but you can fill gaps. And then you add the stars in the draft, which they have plenty of picks now to do so and already added an impact starting wr.Grahamburn wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 5:20 pmWe should know better than to think winning free agency means a damn thing when the season rolls around. You guys can rest easy, he is not coming here after all
49ers reached agreement on a one-year deal with former Panthers’ QB Sam Darnold, per source.

Jets are over the barrel now.
Wilson is the only QB on their roster.

I think he’s thinking of Mike White?

The bears made good moves but unfortunately they have a RB at QB and won’t maximize the benefits of having Moore

Guys, you can breathe

Dang
Jets are actively working to reach an agreement with Packers’ free-agent WR Allen Lazard, per league sources. There is another team involved, and no final decision, but the Jets are trying to reunite Lazard and OC Nathaniel Hackett.

I can see why Packers are fed up with Rodgers..
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Damn, the Saints know what they’re doing
Breaking: The New Orleans Saints restructured Michael Thomas’ contract, reaching an agreement on a one-year, $10 million deal that has a max value of $15 million, a source tells Adam Schefter.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Paying at least 10M for a wr who has okayed in 10 of the last 50 games and has a total of 56 catches for 639 yards and 3 TD combined over the last three seasons seems like the opposite of “knowing what they’re doing.”
