Eagles have their new OC. Now we see why there was such little talk about him potentially going elsewhere.

He brings four years of experience in coordinating offenses too.
Good for him.

Giants are releasing WR Kenny Golladay on the first day of the league year, March 15, per source.
By waiting until March 15, they will save $6.7 million against their salary cap.

Yeah, the learning curve is often rough for DTs, but he put it together. He was quite a gift for the Saleh era.

Low-key one of the biggest free agent busts of the last decade. Looking forward to seeing us getting hyped after Licht signs him to a 1-5 deal and we watch a bunch of 5 year old highlights.

Salah has the perfect scheme for his play style. He always had the talent and now it's showing.

Duuuuuuude. The roughest part will be the, "Let's talk ourselves into this" phase, because the next February we all look like assholes.

Last year it was Gage. @Dread was making a comparison to Steve Smith of all people. Fucking Russell Gage being compared to Steve Smith on a message board is more memorable to me than anything he did all last season.

Man I had high hope for Gage.. damn shame
Remind me of Alvin Harper

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
I was a Golladay fan when he was with the Lions. Boy what a fall off.
Gage was one of the few guys that gutted it out all last year when others were mailing it in. Literally played on one leg when he could've/should've said "hell no see you in a month. Not my fault Godwin needs more time and Julio taking up a bench spot."

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
For those hoping for Fields to play for the Bucs, it is not going to happen
Bears GM Ryan Poles said the team will do its homework on all the QBs in this upcoming draft, but the plan is to have Justin Fields as its starting QB this season.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Those people (are there any, seriously) are insane.
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Meh, Russell Wilson is a Bronco, Watson is a Brown, and Brady was a Buc. Better QBs have been dealt or walked away.
We’re in a new era. Trask shouldn’t prevent Licht from pursuing a cost-controlled, meaningful upgrade if that’s what he identifies.

Yea it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that the Bears might want to go elsewhere at QB. But it was always a long shot.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Bears are in a tough spot. They chose Trubisky over Mahomes and now there's a real possiblity they'll choose Fields over Young and then watch Fields bust out of the league while Young is that next name brand QB.
If Young and Fields are both in this draft, do the bears pick fields at #1 over Young? If not, then they need to seriously consider trading Fields and not succumbing to sunk cost.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
If the Bears draft a really good OL to protect Fields, he’ll be alright.. Last season, he was pretty average with terrible OL but great at legs like Vick. He just need to work on his passingBucsNBills wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 12:17 pm Bears are in a tough spot. I think that’s probably why they want to trade down for more picks to draft OL?
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
You need to not only see them as better but MUCH better.
Think of it this way, if the Bears were slatted to take Fields at #2, would they give up whatever their ransom reward would be to trade up to get one of these other QBs?
Because you are likely to get a much bigger haul trading the first than trading Fields.

Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
QB talent is getting so good and it’s coming in every year. Average QB play I’d better than it’s ever been. You could argue that marginal improvements in performance are pretty significant. Especially come playoff time.
There are entire halves in the playoffs where teams did not punt. If you’re tied going into halftime and that’s with the other team does, you lose. So we’re talking about quarterbacks making that one extra throw in a half to win or to keep their team alive. That’s important it is.

The country is betting on the Detroit Lions to win NFC next season
Re: The Official 2023 NFL Off-Season Thread
Every freaking year.
Green Bay Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said he hasn't spoken yet with Aaron Rodgers, other than a few text exchanges, and thus is noncommittal on who will be the team's starting QB in 2023.
