Re: Who would you want as our next OC?
Brian Johnson, 35, is the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach.
Johnson took the role in 2021 after a decade in the college ranks, most recently serving as Florida’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2020. That year, Johnson helped the Gators average 40 points per game. Johnson helped Gators quarterback Kyle Trask achieve a breakout season, which led to Trask being drafted by Tampa Bay in the second round of the 2020 draft.
Since joining Philadelphia, Johnson has helped Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts develop into a star. Hurts took a sizable leap in his second season and then took an even bigger leap in his third season, developing into an MVP candidate.

I don't want to steal my own thunder, but my MJW "What I'd Do" offseason thread will feature a very, very Philly Flavor.Doctor wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 1:49 am Brian Johnson, 35, is the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach.

Re: LEFTWICH FIRED: Who do you want as our next OC?
That will depend on who the new head coach is going to be.

What it means is all the reporting that he's been fired is bullshit at this point. It's been a little more than 12 hours since the game ended. What's the rush? The guy you want to hire isn't even thinking about his next job right now, he's thinking about the Giants.BucsNBills wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:35 pm Oh God, they're gonna end up keeping him, aren't they...
Re: LEFTWICH FIRED: Who do you want as our next OC?
I was thinking the same thing? What's the rush?
It would purely be a PR move to scapegoat him for Brady's poor season. Which I could see if Brady was staying, but if he's leaving, why do him the favor?
I can see us moving on from Lefty for various reasons. But a quick fire would be purely for show.

So these reports are premature, huh??? Interesting.King Bootz wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:37 pmWhat it means is all the reporting that he's been fired is bullshit at this point. Show for who? We're about to lose half our fan base anyways lol
Re: LEFTWICH FIRED: Who do you want as our next OC?
If this was 'pushed' as a story from inside One Buc Place then it was to see if fans revolted and wanted Bowles gone too. I think the resounding answer is FIRE THEM BOTH.Doctor wrote: ↑Tue Jan 17, 2023 12:43 pm I was thinking the same thing? What's the rush?

I was thinking this morning! Did we have one successful screen pass to a rb this year? I can’t remember one getting 10+ yards at all.

Re: LEFTWICH FIRED?: Who do you want as our next OC?
It all comes down to Brady. If Brady can't go to SF I could see him coming back. In which case we try to fix the OL and run it again with everyone on their final year, including Lefty. Brady can single handedly fix the cap with an extension.
If Brady leaves, I see Bowles hitching his wagon to someone else. If someone better is there. I know it's going to infuriate to some, but there is a situation depending on hires where Lefty is the best option for 2023.
And you better believe we are doing what is best to win in 2023. No one in OBP is committing tanking seppuku for the G Boyz.

Fling? Come on, man. We had a fucking baby with him and named him, Lombardi.

Baby might as well be 35 and on his own now. No use in staying together.

Was this thread just re-named?

Re: LEFTWICH FIRED: Who do you want as our next OC?
I am hearing it will be Todd Monken. Then again I am also still hearing that Bowles is not 100% safe.
Re: LEFTWICH FIRED?: Who do you want as our next OC?
For real. How absurd is it to think of Tom Brady having a three year fling that resulted in a baby?

Re: LEFTWICH FIRED: Who do you want as our next OC?
Here's my wish list for the new OC and scheme coming to Tampa
1: Modern scheme that's built to implement and take advantage of 2023 passing and running concepts
2: Ability to adapt the offense to the players and show willingness to adjust whenever needed.
3: Be analytically informed but not analytically enslaved(i.e. Staley).
4: Take advantage of opposing defenses weaknesses while maximizing our strengths. I don't want to hear "we do what we do" ever again.
5: Not a single trace of cronyism.
6: Be hired purely based on merit and the above criteria.
7: Last but not least, I don't want this OC to be some desperate ploy for Brady to come back. This hire needs to be completely independent of Brady.

Re: LEFTWICH FIRED: Who do you want as our next OC?
Monken has been thrown around a good bit over the last few days. Pewter Report, who were on the “Leftwich is gone” train 2 months ago, have said Monken is a possibility.
